Announcement [edit]

Under Article 8 of the statutes, Wikimedia Spain officially announces the First General Assembly, to be held in Valladolid on Saturday June 11th, 2011:

To participate in the Assembly is a prerequisite to be pre-registered as a member of Wikimedia Spain. If you have not already done, the link is http://www.wikimedia.org.es/participa

Postal vote and delegate [edit]

Under Article 9 of the statutes (and translated), "In addition to in person, members may choose to vote by mail, by delegation to another member, or any other means which would be devised and approved by the General Assembly, being necessary in all cases establish with certainty the identity of the voter member."

  • More information about these possibilities would arrive in time, after nominations closed.

Candidatures to the Board [edit]

Since May 10th, 2011, the nomination period to the Wikimedia Board of Spain is officially open, ending May 27th, 2011, as established in Article 11 of the statutes: "The candidatures for the Board positions must be submitted by transmitting them to the Secretary at least fifteen days before the Assembly. (...) Applications must be submitted in open list, with one candidate for each of the positions."

  • To submit an candidature, send an email with all the details to the Secretary, at info@wikimedia.org.es. Additionally, all candidatures will have space to present themselves on Meta and the web, in due time.
  • All the regulations on the candidatures and how to exercise your right to vote by mail or delegating can be seen in the respective regulation.

Submitted candidatures [edit]

Following the article 5.1 of the Reglamento de Régimen Electoral, and as interim Secretary of Wikimedia Spain, I let know:

1.- That only one candidature has been submitted, as open list. The composition of this candidature can be found in this link

2 .- That the candidature meets the requirements of article 4 of the same bylaw, so the 48 hours notice time established Art. 5.2 does not apply.

3 .- That under the article 5.3, the nineteenth day after the call, the cadidature will be will be proclaimed. Namely, on May 31th, 2011.
