Proposals for closing projects

Regarding Proposals for closing projects, I made a proposal at Talk:Proposals for closing projects#Old proposals to try and reduce the clutter. I would like more opinions on the matter or other suggestions. I know the section is not official, but it would be nicer if we had some kind of archiving process. :) Ottava Rima 00:44, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Agreed. Ditto for proposals for starting projects. It's about time we had a more active process for going through project opening/closing proposals, updating standards for what makes for a good or mission-relevant project, and helping both opening and closing proposals reach closure. I brought this up at the Board meeting over the past weekend, and hope to help some of these sections become more official. Sj+ help translate 23:55, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

fair use templates

I have a question, are there something like central templates to place on the non-free images. (sort of like commons, except for templates) It would be useful for wikipedia projects that have just started or don;t have enough members to create every single template for pictures? another question

well the logo for punjabi wiki ( File:Wikipedia-logo-pa.png) had a spelling mistake so i got someone to fix it, but i wanted to ask if we have to do something before we start seeing the updated image on wikipedias. because on pa wikipedia i still see the un-updated image as the logo. Never mind about this question. Gman124 02:48, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Requests for approval

Hi there! I want to request appoval for Karachay-Balkar Wikipedia. We have already translated all MediaWiki messages and I suppose that our community is rather active.
No one answered me on the talk page of the Language committee, so I wrote here... --Iltever 20:40, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Industrial engineer wants to use wiki / methods to collaborate to build bottom-up (locally owned) basic industry in emerging markets

Hello, I am a consulting engineer and industrial (process plant) contractor who has compiled the full range of tools needed to help indigenous people identify, develop and profitably operate basic industry that fits their locale. I want to give these tools to a collaboration that uses wiki methods to attract like-minded others who can also contribute (investors, attorneys, accountants, programmers, business managers, tradesmen, etc.). Bottom-up (locally owned) basic industry means hard currency in the hands of the people, enabling them / motivating them to self-reliance and improved quality of life. The wiki system seems like a good way to find, screen and control collaboration. Can interested parties contact me via wiki or the email address I have used to log on?

Haiti Wikipedia articles

Hello. These days I've notices that the ht:wp is growing with articles no longer than 20b and whose place shall be the Wiktionary (recent changes). I think that every wikipedia has it's own way for defining what an article is, but this kind of article making is not a bad thing for the overall Wikimedia philosophy? -Theklan 01:04, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
