Wikimedia Greece
Wikimedia Greece is a proposal of a local chapter of the Wikimedia Foundation in Greece. Its mission is to support and spread all Wikimedia projects in the country. At present the interested parties have established the Wikimedia Community User Group Greece and naturally the chapter will be the next stage of development.
The creation of Wikimedia Greece was something that we talked about since 2009 but then the discussion stalled. Since early 2011 we restarted new discussion is ongoing with a lot more interested people. Interested Wikipedians established the User Group recognized by the AffComm in 2013. The User Group created formal bylaws and legally registered as an association in Greece in 2020.
