Wikimeetup Dhaka 13[edit]
On Wednesday, January 29, 2013 Wikimedia Bangladesh arranged Wikimeetup Dhaka 13 at Dhanmondi Lake, opposite to the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum. Around 15 wikimedians joined the meetup.
Wikigathering on 21st February[edit]
On 21st February, the international mother language day, Wikimedia Bangladesh (WMBD) arranged a wiki gathering in front of Bangla Academy gate at Ekushey Book Fair 2013. Over 50 participants attended in the gathering.
Wiki-Iftar Dhaka[edit]
On August 4, a Wiki-Iftar was arranged in Dhaka. Iftar is a meal taken to break the fast in Ramadan. The Wiki-Iftar was attended by 21 Wikipedians from around Dhaka. There was community discussion followed by the iftar.
Wikimeetup Dhaka 15[edit]
Wikimedia Bangladesh (WMBD) arranged the 15th Dhaka Wikimeetup on 1st November 2013. The meetup took place at the Central Public Library premises. The meetup was attended by WMBD board members, Bangla Wikipedia administrators and some new Wikipedians.
The meeting's goal was to bring our efforts closer and reach out directly with the community. The meetup kicked off by introduction to each to other. The new Wikipedians asked their inquires to the administrators and other Wikipedians. Discussion on on-going Wikimedia projects was held followed by discussion on the preparation about the official Wikipedia Zero launching press conference. Wikipedia activities in University of Dhaka were also discussed in an attempt to create Wikipedians from the university students.
Wikimeetup Dhaka 16[edit]
On Wednesday, 25 December, 2013 Wikimedia Bangladesh arranged Wikimeetup Dhaka 16 at Central Public Library, Dhaka. Around 15 wikimedians attended the meetup.
Wikipedia Workshop in UITS[edit]
On 13th April 2013, Wikimedia Bangladesh (WMBD) and University of Information Technology & Sciences (UITS) jointly arranged a day long event titled ‘Wikipedia Workshop in UITS’. The goal of the workshops were to introduce Wikipedia (especially Bengali Wikipedia), and show the attendees how to edit the articles and contribute photographs to Wikimedia Commons. Most participants were new to Wikipedia, but at the same time we found several of them were already contributing to Wikipedia. Altogether, over 80 participants attended to the workshop.
Wikipedia Zero launching ceremony[edit]

On 13th November 2013, Wikipedia Zero was officially launched in Bangladesh. Wikimedia Bangladesh arranged a press conference at Karwan Bazar to mark the launching and brief the media about Wikipedia Zero program. Carolynne Schloeder, Director of Mobile Programs of Wikimedia Foundation joined press conference. Also, representatives from top three mobile operators of Bangladesh - Grameenphone, Banglalink and Robi were present at the press conference along with Wikimedia Bangladesh President and board members. WMBD President informed the newsman about the Wikipedia Zero program in detail. The mobile operator representatives further informed about their own initiatives regarding this program and their partnerships with Wikimedia Foundation. Carolynne Schloeder talked about the worldwide Wikipedia Zero program and its effect. She showed a video about the program on which school children from South Africa requested local cellphone carriers to waive data charges, which paved the way for launching Wikipedia Zero in South Africa. WMBD founding member and Bangla Wikipedia bureaucrat Ragib Hasan greeted the community from Alabama, USA through video at the conferee.
The press conference was followed by a Wikimeetup with Carolynne Schloeder. Wikimedia Bangladesh community members discussed with Carolynne Schloeder on on-going Wikimedia projects around Bangladesh.
