I’d like to help out on OTRS because we have lost one of the most active OTRS volunteers recently. My colleagues in the ru.wiki need help, they’re receiving a lot of requests. I can respond to article-related and other non-permission tickets because I focus on solving the same type of problems in the ru.wiki. — LEMeZza 19:46, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
* I support LEMeZza and I can vouch for her. She actively help newcomers in ru-wiki. And info-ru has very few active volunteers now, we need fresh blood =) — putnik 20:40, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

I'd like to help out on OTRS because I like to change wikimedia (mostly wikipedia) for the better. I love to revert vandalism, and I have rollback on Wikipedia. I do not use most other wiki projects, but you can see my wikipedia page for more info. I also am familiar with CSD and use NPWatcher to tag articles. I like photography and sometimes convert .png to .svg, and add transparancy. I have about 2,500 edits and I think I can be trusted. - Andrewrp 23:52, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
*Sorry, I cannot endorse this, per :en:User_talk:Andrewrp#I_am_concerned, where you were warned for biting a newcomer (most of OTRS work is dealing with newcomers). Your reply which included "I agree I could of have been nicer. I can get angry sometimes" does not fill me with confidence that you can handle the emails that come to OTRS at the moment. Also, having joined Wikipedia on 21 April, I am afraid you are a bit inexperienced for OTRS work. Best, PeterSymonds 14:31, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Volunteer Response Team

For prospective volunteers

OTRS volunteers are always welcome, but there is a fairly selective application process, given the nature of the work. Generally, OTRS administrators must be familiar with you and your work on Wikimedia projects before accepting you as a volunteer and issuing you an account. It may take some time before you receive a response in regards to your request, so please be patient.

If you are truly interested in helping out with OTRS and have not yet received a response as to that status of your application, please feel free to join the IRC channel and introduce yourself to some of our members. You still may be able to help out without an OTRS account (for more information, check out OTRS/IRC channel).

Before applying to volunteer, please read OTRS/info-en recruiting and make sure that the following statements accurately describe you:

 • you're willing to work on difficult, sensitive, and at times hostile messages;
 • you're courteous, skilled at resolving disputes, friendly even in the face of hostility, sensitive to the needs of those outside Wikipedia, and have exemplary discretion;
 • you're willing to provide identification to the Wikimedia Foundation (please see Access to nonpublic data policy for why we ask for this).

If you want to help the German-speaking OTRS team please visit de:WP:ST#Mitarbeit im Support-Team. The above procedure applies for non-German speaking Wikipedians only.

Feel free to specify if you are entrusted with any special tools on wikis (sysop, bureaucrat, checkuser, etc.). You may also add to your application links to archives of help desk posts, or identification on active mailing lists if you think they are relevant.

Please note that there is a firm recommendation of 16 as a minimum age for participation in the OTRS system, to ensure people have adequate real life and Wikimedia experience before taking on what is a considerable and important responsibility for the Foundation and the projects.

Note: Additional language skills are a plus. Currently, additional help is needed in: Spanish (Español), Portuguese (Português), Dutch (Nederlands), and Hebrew (עברית) queues (in order of backlog). Please make sure you mention any language skills you have.

Multichill

I'd like to help out on OTRS because the nl permissions queue could use some more volunteers. I often move images from a Wikipedia to Commons. I would like to be able to check permission before I move files. I almost forgot, i'm an admin at nlwp and at Commons. Multichill 09:26, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Of course I'm not familiar with Multichill's work on nl.wiki but I'm sure he'd be a great help with permissions. - Rjd0060 16:11, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
