@Ruslik: it can be useful from time to time, but it was agreed that it would expire, so it is OK to remove it.<br />@Chtak Yuno: I don't exactly understand what you want me to do. Lezgi interfes

Hi I beg you not to add Azerbaijani and russian in the interface of the lezgin you can leave English if there is no translation of the lezgin. I azeri translation will strictly delete. Lezgistxa 10:47, 30 September 2011 (UTC)

Azeri and Russian are shown as helper languages, only when translating. One of them could also be used as fallback, but I won't do that because it is not wanted, so that remains English. SPQRobin (talk) 12:26, 30 September 2011 (UTC)

Logo Saterfriese wikipedia

Hey SPQRobin,

Vriendelijke groeten, Maartenvdbent 20:14, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

SPQRobin (inc!) 12:02, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Hello!

Could you please take a look at my request about Mari Wikipedia, and post a comment on it? --Сай 16:25, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

I can't tell you anything new about that request specifically, but I can say that I am working on the prefix and recent changes issues (and other things). SPQRobin (inc!) 22:51, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for answer! Recent changes will be a very usufull tool in incubator. Good luck on your work! --Сай 04:29, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Mari Wikipedia in Incubator

Please, take a look at Talk:Language_committee#Requests for approval Meadow Mari Wikipedia. Nobody has answered yet on my last post week ago. --Сай 09:07, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

We are currently discussing and processing several requests. So, it's not that it hasn't been seen. SPQRobin (inc!) 17:42, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Ok. Could you tell, please, how many time it will take you for disscussing and processing Mari Wikipedia? --Сай 15:14, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Many people of various tests ask me this, but I am not able to answer that question. SPQRobin (inc!) 20:17, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Hi there! I am glad to inform you, Language committee, that now Mari Wikipedia Incubator commutity has three active not-grayed out editors for last three monthes (look at statistics). So, the last requirement is meet now.
Also I want to add, that there will be a big conference in July, 10. There would be around 150 young mari. I will take part in this conference and intend to talk about Mari Wikipedia to involve more people to contribute. There are more chances that new participants will contribute to Wikipedia than to Incubator. So, I am asking you to consider approval of Mari Wikipedia before the start of conference(before July, 10). As for me, I have some technical skills. I can help you, for example in creating subdomain mhr.wikipedia.org or in moving pages, etc. And of cource, if you think that mari wikipedia don't have something for final approval, please, write it here immediatly, so we can fix and solve all the problems before July 10.
Please, post your answer here --Сай 06:00, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
First I am happy to hear there will be a conference about Mari and that you will talk about Wikipedia. About the approval: the language committee is somewhat inactive; when I ask what the state is of current requests, I get no answer. As for moving pages, we know what we have to do once it has been created so your help is appreciated but not really needed to move them. I think you can be pretty sure that it will be approved by July 10, but indeed, it does always take a long time... Thanks, SPQRobin (inc!) 19:34, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Ka-wikisource

Could you please elaborate?

You recently did these edits. What do you mean by "consensus"? Could you please elaborate in the proposal page? In that page there are more people against the closure than supporting it. Regards. --83.42.147.250 09:17, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

According to a conspicuous warning in Proposals_for_closing_projects, if somebody proposes a project for closure and they do not add a local announcement as well, the request would be ignored. I have just checked and km.wiktionary does not seem to have been properly informed about the proposal in Meta with at least a warning in its main page. I have also checked km.wikibooks and the same happens. Have you checked the rest of the projects you added in (bug 19368) in the same way? Regards. --81.38.38.128 11:07, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
Answered on the proposal page. About the local announcement, I didn't propose them. I wanted to clean up the list because they are open propsals since ages. SPQRobin (inc!) 14:50, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
That was and is obvious. I never asked you about leaving any announcements in the projects, just about your previous checking of the projects. Those projects, at least two of them, do not seem to have been properly warned. If they are closed now, it would mean that the proposals are not being ignored despite the warning in Proposals_for_closing_projects. Could you please cancel the bug until procedures are done with a bit more of fairness and logic with them? Thanks. --81.38.38.128 17:41, 30 June 2009 (UTC) I have crossed off the number of projects because none of them seem to have been properly warned --81.38.38.140 14:25, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Liefdadigheid

Groeten, Fransvannes 08:39, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi Robin. We want to make Acehnese Wikipedia could be edited only by registered user. I do not how. Could you help us please? Thank you very much! Si Gam Acèh 16:27, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

Well, Wikipedia is supposed to be editable by everyone, so I don't know if it is allowed, but if you really want to, you can ask it on Bugzilla. SPQRobin (inc!) 00:09, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi

I saw an old post about a language learning environment implented in a wikimedia suit where you were writing... Do you know if it turned out to be something?

The reason I contact you is that I, in 2008, created the site "Wikidioma" without having seen that post. It's mainly in norwegian, as that's where I'm from. It's built on the wikimedia platform. I can see that my goals with the site was the same as yours. So buttom line: is there still some interest? As of that I can give the domain to wikimedia, and help in maintaining the site, update etc.

Proposal: The general rules of language use in Wikimedia

[I know that my English is not perfect. And I sorry for possible grammatical and stylistic errors.]

I am a professional anthropologist and at the same time, a man with considerable experience as a politician and as a party to legal conflicts. I am very interesting by those most bitter conflicts in the Wikipedia community around the creation of Wikipedia in those or other languages. This, in particular, the sharp conflicts over language: Volapük, Lombardian, Siberian, Klingon, Quenya, Toki Pona, Moldovan.

[I note that the closing pages of the Moldovan and Siberian languages was partly inspired by political motives, respectively, the representatives of Romanian and Russian languages. There is no doubt in the existence of a group of Siberian dialects of the Russian language, and there is no doubt in the existence of a formal written language, which was called "Moldovan" and was considered different from Romanian.]

I believe that decisions on these matters do not meet many of the panellists. This means that the problem of the continued functioning of languages of the Wikipedia needs more regulation. Should be introduced simple and obvious rules, which could satisfy all. Moreover, these rules should be considered obvious and fair to all members of the Wikipedia community.

These rules I have set out in the form of a few simple and universal legal norms. These rules have a few sources.

Main source: These rules follow from the main purpose of Wikipedia. The purpose of Wikipedia - creating the most complete and high quality on-line version of the encyclopedia in all languages of the Earth.

Second source: own practice of the Wikipedia community (especially the Language committee) in dealing with such issues, the presence in the practice of historical precedents.

The third source: the general universal principles of law that have proved themselves throughout the history of mankind, and which recognized the basic legal systems of almost all States, except in the most odious dictatorships. In this case there are two such universal principles:

1) A person shall not be liable for the acts of illegality which he could not have known. In particular, it should not be punished for acts which at the time they were committed were not illegal.

2) If people are free to enjoy certain rights, these rights they can not be taken away or limited. This is a very important universal principle, which dictates the obvious solution of a number of the most violent conflicts in the Wikipedia community.

Based on this latter principle, those languages that already have existing Wikipedia pages, or who have already obtained the right to create such pages in the wiki-Incubator, in any case can not be denied the right to own Wikipedia.

Because of this legal principle should be necessary to reopen the languages of the Wikipedia: Klingon, Toki Pona, Moldovan and Siberian.

On the other hand, these Wikipedias have been closed due to fair and honest reasons. So we must not allow the emergence of similar pages in the future. For this purpose, and should be taken these guidelines.

The general rules of language use in Wikimedia

A. Rules of use of existing languages in Wikimedia

1) Any language of Wikimedia may not be removed from it.

2) Administrators of each active Wikipedia in any language are obliged to care about the quality of Wikipedia articles. In particular, there is considered unacceptable the bot-creation of the main part of Wikipedia articles in any language.

In case of serious doubt as Wikipedia in this language guide Wikimedia Foundation may require the removal of all articles that have been bot-uploaded.

3) If necessary, bad-quality Wikimedia to correct the deficiencies can be returned to the Wiki-incubator.

4) In case if the language is used in two or more writing systems, separate sections for each type of writing is not created. Instead, is nessesary to create a program that can translate the contents of any article on this language from one writing system into another.

We are welcoming the creation for any language of Wikipedia, program that gives the contents of articles into the International Phonetic Alphabet, as well as program that translates into the Latin transcription of the contents of articles in those languages, which made other writing systems.

B. Rules for the establishment of Wikipedia and Wiki-Incubator for new languages

1) In the Wikipedia and Wiki-incubator can be created sections in any native (living or dead) language, having the code ISO 639-3.

2) In the Wikipedia can be created partitions on any living language, not having the code ISO 639-3, if it satisfies the following conditions:

a) there are people for whom this language is native;

b) these language has a literature and electronic sites;

c) there is a scientific description of the language: its vocabulary and grammar;

d) The Wikipedia has pages devoted to this language in English and at least three other languages.

3) In the Wikipedia can be created sections on any recently extinct language, not having the code ISO 639-3, if it satisfies the following conditions:

a) The language died out not earlier than 1850;

b) there is a tutorial of the language;

c) these language has a literature and electronic sites;

d) there is the scientific description of the language: its vocabulary and grammar;

e) The Wikipedia has pages devoted to this language in English and at least three other languages.

4) In the Wikipedia can be created partitions on any dead language, not having the code ISO 639-3, if it satisfies the following conditions:

a) in that language existed and survived to the present day own rich literature;

b) there is a tutorial of the language;

c) these language has a modern literature and electronic sites;

d) there is the scientific description of the language: its vocabulary and grammar;

e) The Wikipedia has pages devoted to this language in English and at least three other languages.

5) All the languages that do not meet the criteria set out in paragraphs 1), 2), 3) and 4), are considered to be artificial.

In Wikipedia, there are sections of the following artificial (constructed) languages: Esperanto, Simple English, Ido, Novial, Intelingua, Interlingue (Occidental), Volapük, Lojban, Quenya, Klingon, Toki Pona, and Lingua Franca Nova.

In the Wikipedia is not possible to create partitions on any other artificial languages.

As an exception, the decision to establish a section of Wikipedia in any other artificial language can be accepted leadership of the Wikimedia Foundation. In this case the language must meet all the requirements of paragraph 4) for the dead languages and have code ISO 639-3 and a level of development and popularity of not less than the language of Quenya in 2009.

I believe that the adoption of these rules will remove all the stress and all the discussions around the language policy of Wikipedia.

Best Regards,

Ihor Rassokha, Ukraine

Vlaanderen Vlaams

Vraagje, waarom die politiek getinte links vanop je UP. Vind je dit wel verstandig? --Ida Shaw 13:31, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

Waarom?

Hello Robin!
There are a few unanswered questions on Talk:Language committee. As a member of the language committee, I am kindly asking you to reply to the users' concerns posted there. Please don't be offended if the tone of my last posting there sounds a bit harsh, as I was a little disappointed because some questions weren't responded to in a while. Thank you!
--Saberon 12:34, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

Hello, I understand your frustration. I had the same feeling before I joined the committee. However, now I don't spend a lot of time on Wikimedia, but I will try to answer some questions when I have time. Regards, SPQRobin (talk) 20:05, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Update status wp/bjn

Dear SPQRobin, Thanks for update status of Language committee/Status/wp/bjn. Can I edit for update date? currently 24/03/2010 which actually on your last edit 19/08/2010. I hope this Wikipedia Bahasa Banjar will approve soon. Thanks.--J Subhi pamandiran 22:13, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

The page needed an update for a long time. But thanks for noticing that the date wasn't updated. And of course you can edit it in the future :) Btw, I think the Wikipedia in Bahasa Banjar will be approved soon. We, the language committee, are working on it. Regards, SPQRobin (talk) 13:10, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
That's a very happy news to me, hopefully it's happening soon. Btw, can I change interwiki display wikipedia Bahasa Banjar from "bjn - Bahasa Banjar" into "bjn - Banjar (بانجار)" or "bjn - Banjar"? Where is editing it? Thanks.--J Subhi pamandiran 11:16, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
Do you mean in e.g. betawiki:Special:Preferences? You can't change it personally, it is the same for everyone. So if everyone (of the Banjar community) agrees to change it to one of those names, I can change it. SPQRobin (talk) 20:43, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Ezagren, one of the contributors to "Incubator Wikipedia Bahasa Banjar". I just wanted to convey a message of JSubhi for you because it is in trouble with the Internet. He said, "If do not need to test the admin also does not matter." I'm also want to ask that interwiki converted "bjn - Bahasa Banjar" into "bjn - Banjar (بانجار)". Then, when "Wikipedia Banjar" can created? Me and the Banjar community can not wait. Thank's Ezagren 12:45, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

Agree with Ezagren "bjn - Banjar (بانجار)" an eye catching one and Arabic letter show writing in past.--J Subhi pamandiran 13:50, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
If I understand correctly, Banjar is now not written in Arabic script? The language name should preferably be in the main script(s), so it should be in Latin: "Bahasa Banjar" or "Banjar". As for the Banjar Wikipedia, I think it will take a few weeks before it is created. Regards, SPQRobin (talk) 23:14, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
That's right, SPQRobin, Banjar was written in Malayan Arabic script (also called Jawi script) in past. If possible I prefer Banjar (بانجار). Wikipedia Bahasa Banjar logo will use Jawi script. logo. Thanks.--J Subhi pamandiran 13:44, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
Hi, SPQRobin, thank you to support Wikipidia Bahasa Banjar which has been approved by Language Committe and board. Thanks.--J Subhi pamandiran 13:35, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
No problem. It's my task in the LangCom :) As for the name of Wikipedia Banjar, maybe it would be good to submit a bug request, because I think I should not decide about this change. Regards, SPQRobin (talk) 18:19, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

Merging simple.wikiquote into en.wikiquote

Hi Robin. Regarding your update at Proposals for closing projects/Archive, in which you indicate that content of the closed Simple English Wikiquote "should be merged into the English Wikiquote" [emphasis added]: I rather doubt it. This has not been proposed to the English Wikiquote or discussed there.

The English Wikiquote does not undertake to explain the meanings of quotations, beyond the occasional clarification of context where necessary; and only includes paraphrases when they are widely attributed misquotes, for the purpose of debunking common errors of misattribution. I am not aware that Simple English Wikiquote contains a significant body of quoteworthy actual, original quotations, as distinct from contributor opinions expressed about what they mean, that are not already included in the English language project, although I confess I have not researched the question in depth. Is this a finding of the Language Committee?

I would ask that system administrators or staff not be instructed to transwiki this content en masse without first proposing this "merger" at the English Wikiquote Village pump, and that the "should be merged" language be reconsidered. Thank you. ~ Ningauble 20:22, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

First I want to say that I did not say "content should be merged into the English WQ" as a Langcom member. Nor do sysadmins or staff have anything to do with this. I usually transfer content of closed wikis (to Incubator) because it appears that otherwise nobody would do it. In this case, I read a part of the discussion, and I said "should be merged" as I thought it would be a logical consequence: I thought the goal of the English WQ is to explain quotes in understandable words, i.e understandable English, and I thought the Simple English WQ had the same goal. However, looking now at the English Wikisource, that is apparently not the goal of the English WQ. With "content should be merged into the English WQ", I meant that *extra* content could be transferred to English WQ on a per-quote basis. It is impractical to organise an en-masse merge/transfer and that is not what I meant with a "merger". However, now that I know the difference in goals between the English WQ and the former Simple English WQ, I have removed the "should be merged" note (now it's just "n/a"). Regards, SPQRobin (talk) 00:42, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for understanding the difference between these projects, and for clarifying your intent. If I misunderstood what you were saying, it only illustrates the hazards contributors face when they attempt to interpret and "explain" someone else's words as the Simple project tried to do.

Thank you also for working on moving closed projects to the Incubator, which must seem like a thankless task when no one takes an interest in actively incubating them. Does the "n/a" notation indicate that the wiki will be left where it is, preserving the status quo?

More than one editor at the English Wikiquote has expressed the view that continuing to host the closed project within the wikiquote.org domain is an embarrassment to Wikiquote,[3] but the nomination for closure did not explicitly call for deletion, and the practice that "useful content of closed wikis are imported to the Wikimedia Incubator" does not provide a mechanism for determining whether the content is useful, or what to do if it is not. I understand that it is not really the responsibility of Langcom, or anybody else, to decide these questions. Is there another way to move forward on the project's final disposition, and avoid the ironic default that if nobody finds the content useful enough to incubate or adopt then it may be preserved forever as a monument to uselessness? ~ Ningauble 17:56, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

"n/a" means that the closed wiki has been left as it is. Usually because there is no useful content to transfer, in this case because the usefulness of the goal of the Simple English WQ had been questioned. When I transfer contents to Incubator, I just look at the pages, which is often not more than a small Main Page and/or some other short pages. And indeed, as you say, a closed wiki remains open to public and is not actually deleted. In the past I have had (several times) the intention to propose a policy for closing projects (like others have done but without success), but so far I haven't yet proposed one. The current practice is to find consensus to delete the wiki (in this case the Simple English WQ), and then submit a bug request to actually delete it (this has been done with Toki Pona and Klingon wikis). SPQRobin (talk) 21:58, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
Alas, I realize that past efforts have failed to produce a general policy for what happens to closed projects. I wanted to avoid re-arguing the whole proposal for closure in order to determine consensus for what to do with the content. I have been avoiding it for nearly a year, ever since I realized there is no standard procedure,[4] in the hope that someone would incubate it. More than a year after the proposal to close was adopted, it may be time to formally call the question, as you suggest. If I do, would you mind if I cite this thread as a pertinent discussion about whether or not to transfer content to the Incubator? I wouldn't want to quote you saying "there is no useful content to transfer" out of context! ~ Ningauble 22:08, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Of course you may cite this thread. When you say that you want to revive the discussion about transferring the content to the Incubator, I assume you are talking about Simple English WQ specifically, or about the closing policy in general? I might (finally) propose a general policy for closing and deleting wikis. Btw, meanwhile, a user has reverted my edit on the archive ([5]) but I reverted it back. SPQRobin (talk) 23:42, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
I think the lack of a general policy is a real problem, but I don't know that I have much stomach for a full-fledged policy debate. My particular interest is in removing the Simple English Wikiquote from the wikiquote.org domain. Consensus seems clear that it was all an unfortunate mistake, that the "Wikiparaphrase" concept does not suit the Foundation's mission. I would be happy to see it archived at the Incubator or adopted at a non-WMF host such as Wikia but, if the former is contrary to Incubator policy and if nobody steps forward to do the latter, to be frank, I just want it gone.

Btw, the same user has added language in the header of Proposals for closing projects to the effect that closed projects can never be deleted and will always be imported to the Incubator. I was about to post a complete rewrite reflecting what appears to me, albeit vaguely, to have been actual practice (and skirting dangerously close to getting involved in policy formation) when I was distracted by a vandalism rampage at English Wikiquote. I am going to post it momentarily, with some explanation on the talk page, and I would welcome your review after I do. I may be missing the mark, and I am not sure it wouldn't be better to just remove the whole paragraph pending the eventual emergence of an actual policy ... someday. ~ Ningauble 02:55, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

I hope a solution can be found for the Simple English WQ. Meanwhile I am drafting a policy proposal at User:SPQRobin/Closing projects. Regarding the header of Proposals for closing projects, you have well rewritten the text. And regarding your comment on the talk page, I am not familiar with licensing but some wikis have already been deleted so future deletions should be allowed. Wikipedia Swiss German

Thank you for checking the proposal. Do you know where I can asking for moving this wiki (http://als.wikipedia.org/) to the Wp:gsw? --Simon.hess 16:35, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

As I noted on the request page, a bug has been submitted (see bug 23215) but it has been on the "to do" list since 2008 (there is a backlog of many bugs that need to be fixed), so it is very hard to get the wiki moved. There are some other wikis that need to be moved, and it seems that it is technically a bit difficult to move a wiki. You can try commenting on the bug, but it will probably not come to the attention of the developers :(.
Thank you. Hopefully, they will move the wiki in the near future. I hope you will enjoy your trip to Switzerland. Freundliche Grüsse aus der Schweiz. --Simon.hess 22:35, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

Albanian Wikinews

Hi SPQRobin! What should we do to create Albanian Wikinews?--Olsihysa 17:34, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Now that the localisation is complete, you should maintain the localisation (when new messages are added) and maintain activity at Incubator. I will propose the approval of the Albanian Wikinews, so it may be created in the near future. SPQRobin (talk) 19:34, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
Thank you very much!--Olsihysa 19:40, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Help needed for Mingrelian Wiki-project

Hello,

I need some help relating to Mingrelian Wiki-project. Can you please send me your e-mail where I can contact you? My e-mail is: machirkholi (at) gmail (dot) com

Well, I wasn't sure, but I was being bold... now — I would really be a "hardass" on the "inactivity is not a valid reason"-line. I can guarantee you there will be a crapload of people who will once again pop in and go "nothing happening, too small, unimportant language, not worth it, yada-yada." Bab(b)elbox

Alvast dank, Klaas. S.I. 'Patio' Oliantigna 08:17, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

Beste Klaas.

Hi. How much time will last for checking the content. For more than three years lezgin wikipedia in the incubator. Lezgin language is at the stage of extinction because of the assimilation policy of Russia and Azerbaijan. Could speed up the process. Thank You.Lezgistxa 03:44, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

I totally understand that it should be approved, but we need verification. Amir would contact someone, so it's probably better to ask him about how much time it would still take. SPQRobin (talk) 20:18, 11 December 2011 (UTC)

Vandalism on Wikipedia Kirmanjki

Dear Robin! The user Gomada riots on Wikipedia Kirmanjki. He has caused Ebe123 to block me. Although I am the test administrator and the founder of this project. your changes to css in hebrew wikipedia

Hi Robin.

Thanks for the changes and improvements to hebrew wikipedia, specifically in and around RTL. we still have one issue (that i know of - of course there may be more that i do not know about...) that have been bugging us for a long time. Amir did some changes one way and another, and for a while (i think) it was fine, but it's broken again.

the issue has to do with tables (or DIV's with borders) that are flushed to the right, and have lists to the left of them. in this combination, the list bullets appear inside the table or div.

this would be something like this (here):

Header text Header text Header text
Example Example Example
Example Example Example
Example Example Example
Example Example Example
Example Example Example
Example Example Example
  • item 1
  • item 2
  • item 3
  • item 4
  • item 5
  • item 6

as you can see, the bullets (barely) clear the right border of the table (btw - i think a little more space would be nice here, also). now look at a similar arrangement here: w:he:User:קיפודנחש/ארגח.

i tested this with chrome and ff - not sure if ie behaves the same or not.

can you find some css magic to fix this problem?

also, can you please create and watch your talk page on hewiki? this will help with the communication, as i do not frequent meta, and it seems like a reasonable request as long as you modify pages in hewiki... (you can also respond in my talkpage in hewiki if you like).

Edit warring warning and falsification of policies

[6] If you do not revert yourself, I will ask for a block for faking a policy without any consensus. Such is not appropriate behavior on any Wiki. Ottava Rima (talk) 05:30, 12 November 2011 (UTC)

I was just trying to make the explanation more detailed, so it is clearer to others, as there seems to be some misunderstanding about the proposed user group. This is not "faking" anything, the thread on Wikimedia Forum is still open. SPQRobin (talk) 15:42, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
You clearly removed a statement that it was a proposed policy and substituted a statement that it was an official policy. That doesn't match up to anything you are claiming now. Ottava Rima (talk) 15:44, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
It was there before you edited it. Anyway, to prevent any unneeded flamewars, I have put it again. SPQRobin (talk) 16:05, 12 November 2011 (UTC)

LTR style still needed

Hi. I had to revert you changes to fa:MediaWiki:Common.css because the .ltr class is still needed. It is being used by some of the templates. The mediawiki version doesn't have the same functionality. If you can direct me to the mediawiki version's defintion, I might be able to update that to help with all wikis. Please respond on my talk page. Huji 05:49, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

I understand your concern, and I believe the solution is not to remove the CSS styles, but to (1) rename them to something like fawiki-ltr, and update the templates using them accordingly, and (2) to update the .rtl and .ltr class in MediaWiki to have support for indentation (which it doesn't right now).
I can take care of the first part easily. For the latter, I need you to direct me to where the .ltr class is defined in MediaWiki itself (I've been away from development for a while and I need your help here). Huji 04:44, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
We did need those classes, up until now. I modified the template that relied on it. Then I removed the definitions from Common.css. You should see the wiki fine now. Huji 22:47, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
