- Problem: VisualEditor currently requires an entire page to be parsed in editing mode. This makes editing long pages difficult.
- Who would benefit: Everybody.
- Proposed solution: Allow section edits on VisualEditor. Only the chosen section is loaded, on a separate screen (just like the Wikitext "edit section" behaviour).
- More comments: It doesn't matter that the page isn't parsed exactly, because editors are generally aware that clicking "edit section" means that the preview is limited to the section that they're editing anyway and some changes will affect the rest of the page in ways that only become obvious after saving. This hasn't deterred people from using "edit section" on Wikitext mode and shouldn't deter people from using "edit section" on VisualEditor mode. But the additional performance requirements on loading an entire page onto VisualEditor is making the editing of long pages very difficult.
