This page is for requests to have stewards grant or revoke administrator, bureaucrat, checkuser, and oversight rights on Wikimedia projects which do not have a local permissions procedure.

Old sections are archived. The list of archives is below.

 • Requests for bot flags are handled at SRB, and requests for global permissions are handled at SRGP.
 • If you are requesting adminship or bureaucratship, and your wiki has a local bureaucrat, submit your request to that user or to the relevant local request page (index).
 • For urgent requests, such as to combat large-scale vandalism on a small wiki, contact a steward in the #wikimedia-stewardsconnect IRC channel. In emergencies, type !steward in the channel to get the attention of stewards. Otherwise, you can type @steward for non-urgent help.

Other than requests to remove your own access or emergencies, please only make requests here after gaining the on-wiki approval of your local community.

Meta-Wiki requests

Using this page

1. Place the following code at the bottom of the appropriate section below:

Username@xxproject
(your remarks) ~~~~

2. Fill in the values:

 • domain: the wiki's URL domain (like "ex.wikipedia" or "meta.wikimedia").
 • user name: the name of the user whose rights are to be changed (like "Exampleuser"). In case you're requesting access for multiple bots, leave this field blank and give a list of these bots in your remarks
 • discussion: a link to the local vote or discussion about the rights change (for example, "ex:Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship#ExampleUser"). This should normally be for at least one week, but no more than three weeks (if so, you'll need to restart the process).

3. If anything is missing from your request, a steward will request more information.

Confirmation of signing confidentiality agreement

Certain permissions (notably CheckUser and Oversight) additionally require users to sign a confidentiality agreement. Users requesting these permissions must make a request below, and must also sign the confidentiality agreement with the Wikimedia Foundation. The request is placed on hold temporarily, until the receipt has been formally confirmed by the Office.

phurbutsering@bo.wikipedia.org

bo.wikipedia.org got problem with its font, its interface and articles display very small, I thought it need change, which suit with tibetan wikipedia and its own characteristics, many other language wikipedia, even some small language community wikipedia got their own common.css, which suit with their own font, and special features. if we don't improve that interface, Specially left side menu and right top menu, many people are asking about it again and again. also many people lost interest with contributing articles and file on our local wikipedia. I prepare few page for help as: https://bo.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Questions but still look small with coding big font. I am just applying for few weeks permission, so that i can improve few basic error in tibetan wikipedia. if possible we need help from some technical people, who can active on tibetan wikipedia.
At now its very difficult to find who can worthy as admin, we need to improve many template and box. normally i was working on translating wiki, tibetan portal. but i found its not meaningful till interface error are solve and make few new interesting template, also its very lack with discussion, because of lack with admin, who can organize and setup few groups, there is no good information for new comer. I am trying send them personally message, but lack of authorization, i can't do. i thought to ask you for advice on how to setup some basic information for new comer, many new comer lost interest here, lack of proper tutorial and help. for example i visit there at dz.wikipedia.org, which is dzongka wikipedia, they share same font as us, but their interface looking much more perfect than us, because of bigger font. actually our main page got more information than them. also this tibetan wikipedia main page was design by me and i know it lacking lot with comparing other wikipedia, so i hope you can give me any suggestion and advice regarding improving interface and visual design,

Please start a discussion with your local community. --Rschen7754 18:48, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
With regard to the font size, that is part of the issue of the mw:Universal Language Selector. You should start your reading at Tech/News/2014/11 and follow the issues and actions that have been occurring, and where to ask your questions.  — billinghurst sDrewth 07:07, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your suggestions, but it is not at all relevant with this case. I am not talking about problem with font rendering, its doing nice with all wikiproject. What I am Asking for help increasing its size, with need Edit its Common.css, If people at steward, don't wish to give me privileged for admin, I think any one at steward can edit our bo.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Common.css act major role here, because here is no people with authority to change some template and also so many necessary template or some template double, also need change some articles as restrict, because of some people edit or damage articles without understanding. i start discussion about editing font size and necessary action about its future development, but many user don't understanding Tibetan and Chinese, bo.wikipedia need local Tibetan user to handle things, who can understand every necessary to Tibetan language and its specialty . Tibetan Discussion forum links here. also can you just check discussion at my talk page

Bureaucrat access

Steward requests/Permissions/Crat-header

Χρυσοχέρης@el.wikiquote

Currently el.wikiquote has no active admins, and a fairly reduced activity, which do not indicate a need for bureaucrats at this stage. Savhñ 20:18, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Have you considered the option of applying for adminship at that wiki? Any request needs to be put before the respective local community for their consideration, comment and approval before we would contemplate granting any rights.  — billinghurst sDrewth 06:58, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

לערי_ריינהארט@test2.wiki

Hi! I am a bureaucrat at testwiki [1] and request to have same user rights at test2wiki [2].
At testwiki it is not possible to test the Wikidata / Wikibase repository. This is only possible at test2wiki. I try to get quick help for testing both WD related gadgets and test2wiki:MediaWiki:Common.js before activate it at various languages as eo:MediaWiki:Common.js. See first discussion at d:User talk:Underlying lk#User:Underlying_lk.2Freasonator.js. There will be more gadgets to come.

Removal of access

<translate>

 • If you're requesting the removal of your own permissions, make sure you're logged in to your account. If you have multiple flags, specify which you want removed. Stewards may delay your request a short time to ensure you have time to rethink your request (see previous discussion on 24 hour delays); the rights will not be restored by stewards once they are removed.
 • To request the removal of another user's permissions, you must gain consensus on the local wiki first. When there is community consensus that the user's access should be removed, provide a link to the discussion, with a brief explanation of the reason for the request, and summarize the results of discussion. However, as bureaucrats of some wikis may remove users from the administrator or bureaucrat group, please see also a separate list of these specific wikis.
 • To request the removal of another user's permissions for inactivity, link to your local inactivity policy. If your site does not have inactivity policy, the global policy Admin activity review applies.
 • See the instructions above for adding new requests. Please post new requests at the bottom of the section.</translate>

VPliousnine@ru.wiktionary

--Cinemantique (talk) 12:34, 7 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Cinemantique, has VPliousnine been informed about this, and has the vote been announced somewhere? I think it's important that everyone who might want to, gets the chance to voice their opinion. If the community hasn't been informed, would you consider doing that and extend the vote for one more week just to be sure? Thanks, Mathonius (talk) 13:45, 7 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Mathonius! Yes, sorry, we did it through an oversight. I've done things you asked (1, 2) and we'll be waiting for a week. Thank you for your attentiveness.--Cinemantique (talk) 14:21, 7 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please remove my admin rights, 10X --Damzow (talk) 10:21, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

on hold for 24h per standard practice. Matanya (talk) 10:22, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You are also a Bureaucrat. Are you asking for just the admin right to be removed, or both? QuiteUnusual (talk) 12:45, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Both please, sorry for the mistake Damzow (talk) 13:50, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Thank you for your work. Savhñ 13:54, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Eran@yi.wiktionary

Please remove my admin rights - I'm not active in yiwiktionary. Thanks, eranroz (talk) 15:38, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

On hold for 1 day. --M/ (talk) 15:40, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Done Matanya (talk) 10:58, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hashar@yi.wiktionary

Following up a notification by Rschen7754 on my french talk page, please get rid of my adminship on yi.wiktionary. I can't remember why / how I get it, probably used to mass delete or nuke some spam. Thank you! --Ashar Voultoiz (talk) 20:23, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done User said OK on IRC and given the fact that he hasn't used the rights in two years, this is not a rage quit, so, 24 hours period does not apply. --Meno25 (talk) 20:27, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Reaper35@wikidatawiki

Per the local action log, Reaper35 didn't perform the, per policy required, 10 admin actions before the last activity review which happened on March 1st. It seems like he was forgotten during this review. Vogone talk 13:21, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

For proper record keeping, I restored this restored this request. I note that a Shanmugamp7 removed the rights before this request was withdrawn. It was subsequently noticed that the user had enough edits in ns8 to qualify for continued access to the sysop toolset under wikidata policies. Snowolf How can I help? 14:59, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Snowolf: Wrong, it was withdrawn 2 minutes before Shanmugamp7 performed this action. Vogone talk 15:38, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
yes, first i saw the request, then checked Reaper35's logged actions and local policy and removed the rights, after that only i saw that Vogone undid this request because ns8 edits also counts which i was not aware, so i restored the rights--Shanmugamp7 (talk) 15:58, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Effeietsanders@yi.wiktionary

Effeietsanders agreed with removal of the admin rights as can be seen here. --Trijnsteltalk 16:59, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wouldn't it be more senseful to remove them all in a batch like it was done to all previous wikis? Of course this request can be fulfilled but I personally don't see the point in spamming SRP with gazillions of requests for yiwikt (also to note that this is a policy removal and not a removal which was individually requested by the yiwikt community). Vogone talk 17:08, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Done And as far as Vogone's question, I don't expect that many more requests. --Rschen7754 18:49, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Mário Henrique@pt.wikipedia

Due to our policy, I request for removal of sysop rights due to inactivity. The user has been notified. Thanks in advance. Érico Wouters msg 23:04, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If I'm not mistaken, we should hold one day, since he was notified the 7th, and a week hasn't passed since. We're a few hours short of 6 days. Savhñ 23:18, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

MagnusA@svwiki

Please remove my adminstrator and bureaucrat flags. --MagnusA (talk) 16:48, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

On hold for 24h, per regular practice. Pundit (talk) 16:51, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
