Today, I am a trainer, project manager, and experienced event organizer (with more than 12 successful events organized, generally funded by the Wikimedia Foundation) within my community. | |

And what was your role on the committee(s)? | I was a member of the Wikimedia Foundation's Africa/Middle East Regional Committee for Community Resources for four consecutive years, and my term ended on June 30, 2025. In this committee, my role was to review annual and multi-year grant applications from Wikimedia Foundation affiliates or other user groups. | |
| Please describe any experience you have with conflict resolution and/or consensus building. | The only experience I have in this field is having been trained in it by participating in the Sinergia Comunicativa training course in 2022, which enabled me to obtain a training certificate in Nonviolent Communication, followed by another in Sociocracy. | |
| In your ideal world, what does the affiliate model and ecosystem look like? | For me, the ideal affiliate model is one based on the credibility of the affiliate; the trust that the affiliate inspires in the Wikimedia Foundation; proximity, good governance (especially participatory) and understanding between the affiliate and the community it represents. | |
| In your ideal world, what are AffCom’s roles and responsibilities in relation to the movement and affiliates? | For me, the role of the AffCom is to carefully review affiliate applications and approve those that are most deserving of affiliate status. I also believe that the AffCom is responsible for guiding and supporting all affiliation applicants by clearly explaining the application process and then making suggestions or recommendations to help applicants obtain satisfaction with their request (if they meet the conditions). | |
