These projects include collaborations with new local Wikimedia communities in several areas in Indonesia. Besides, I also had joined committees in my workplace, mostly as registration administrator that oversee and manage data of registrants on the events. | |
| Please describe any experience you have with conflict resolution and/or consensus building. | In any conflict that I had so far, I always prioritize communication. I will always listen from each sides and usually be the mediator of the discussion. I will try to find the middle ground that can be accepted before going to the last resort, which is through voting between the members. These kind of resolution usually works well in events where I become the committees such as above. | |
| In your ideal world, what does the affiliate model and ecosystem look like? | The ecosystem of affiliates in my ideal world will be something that can provide place, community, and support for people regardless their interest. This means that people can build community that have a clear objective and differentiator from other communities that still align to the Wikimedia Movement. However, this community should not to be rigid, but need to have allow its members to grow and to collaborate in projects that can help the Movement in general. | |
| In your ideal world, what are AffCom’s roles and responsibilities in relation to the movement and affiliates? | The role of the AffCom is to oversee and to manage those affiliations and community, not as the "head" but as an advisor. AffCom should understand the culture and the need of each community, understand their objectives, and giving advice on how they can improve or collaborate with other communities. They need to understand the uniqueness or differentiator of each community so that they can recommend users or community members the best affiliation or community that they can join, whether it is thematic or regional communities. | |
