| Please describe any experience you have with conflict resolution and/or consensus building. | I have gained experience in conflict resolution and consensus building through my work as Community Engagement and Partnerships Lead at OSK Rwanda and within the Africa Great Lakes Hub, where I often supported organizers and volunteers in resolving disagreements and maintaining healthy collaboration. My service on WisCom, the committee that leads WikiIndaba, also required me to work with diverse stakeholders across the continent, mediate different viewpoints, and help the group reach collective decisions. These roles have strengthened my ability to listen, remain neutral, and guide communities toward respectful and constructive solutions. | |
| In your ideal world, what does the affiliate model and ecosystem look like? | In my ideal world, the affiliate model is a well-coordinated and impact-driven ecosystem where affiliates exist to meet the contextual needs of their communities, strengthen content creation, and seize local opportunities that individual contributors or the Foundation cannot access alone. Affiliates would be structured clearly either geographically or thematically to avoid overlap, reduce duplication, and ensure synergy across the movement. Each affiliate would operate with strong internal governance, financial responsibility appropriate to its stage of development, and genuine representation of its community. Larger, formal affiliates would take on greater responsibilities and enjoy broader rights, while smaller or emerging groups would participate within their capacity. Overall, the model would promote mutual support, efficiency, and a shared sense of belonging that motivates contributors and strengthens the entire movement. | |
| In your ideal world, what are AffCom’s roles and responsibilities in relation to the movement and affiliates? | In my ideal world, AffCom supports affiliates by guiding them in good governance, helping them grow, and ensuring they meet movement standards. It would provide fair recognition, prevent overlap between groups, and assist with conflict resolution when needed. AffCom should act as a clear bridge between affiliates and the wider movement, making sure all groups big or small are supported and able to contribute effectively | |
| What role within AffCom are you most interested in: advisory or voting member? | a voting member | |
