[edit]The Africa Wiki Women NominateHer is a campaign aimed towards spotlighting African women nominated by the members of the Wikimedia community, celebrating and showcasing their diverse commitment and contributions while ensuring their work remains visible, valued, and remembered.
Africa Wiki Women – NominateHer Campaign is dedicated to amplifying and celebrating the contributions of African women within the Wikimedia community. Our mission is to spotlight the remarkable work of women across the continent, ensuring their efforts and achievements are recognized and valued through this campaign.
Objectives
[edit]- Recognition: To identify and honour African women who have made significant contributions to Wikimedia projects, including content creation, leadership, and advocacy.
- Amplification: To promote the stories and work of African women in Wikimedia through various platforms, ensuring their voices and contributions are heard and seen across the community.
- Inspiration: To inspire the next generation of African women to participate in Wikimedia projects by showcasing role models and celebrating success stories.
Activities/Timeframe
[edit]Quarterly, Wikimedia community members nominate candidates via a Google form, organized by the theme/category of impact. Nominated candidates will be celebrated across all our social media handles, community groups, and the Meta page.
