We are committed to showcasing the diverse contributions of African women to the Wikimedia movement, ensuring their work remains visible, valued, and remembered. Africa Wiki Women – Nominate Her is dedicated to amplifying and celebrating the contributions of African women within the Wikimedia community. Our mission is to spotlight the remarkable work of women across the continent, ensuring their efforts and achievements are recognized and valued. Recognition Identify and honor African women who have made significant contributions to Wikimedia projects, including content creation, leadership, and advocacy. Amplification Promote the stories and work of African women in Wikimedia through various platforms, ensuring their voices and contributions are heard and seen across the community. She is a Nigerian Wikipedian, the Co-founder of the Wikimedia User Group, and a language advocate. December 2024 Nominee In the last month of 2024, the Africa Wiki Women celebrated Rebecca Jeannette as a nominee of the campaign. She is Rwandan, the Co-founder of the Wikimedia Community User Group Rwanda, the founder of OpenStreetMap Rwanda, and an advocate for open knowledge.
