A peer support space for African Wikimedia admins & functionaries
The African Wikimedia Admins Space is a Wikimedia Foundation-supported, community-led initiative designed to support African users with extended rights supporting African language Wikipedias and other Wikimedia projects.
It provides a safe and consistent space for sysops to connect, exchange experiences, explore solutions to common challenges, advocate for the unique needs of African functionaries on Wikimedia projects, and learn from one another.
The African Admins Space seeks to:
- Create a friendly and supportive peer space for African Wikimedia admins and functionaries.
- Share challenges and exchange best practices from different projects and regions.
- Demonstrate helpful tools and workflows to ease admin tasks.
- Encourage capacity development, leadership, and cross-regional support.
- Support the movement strategy goals around community health, leadership development, and diversity.
Who can join?
[edit]Joining the African Wikimedia Admins Space is simple, open, and welcoming to all qualified participants.
It is open to any Wikimedian who holds administrator, bureaucrat, interface admin, or similar advanced rights on an African language Wikipedia or any other Wikimedia project (e.g., Commons, Wiktionary).

African admins calls
[edit]African admins calls is a one-hour online call that happens every month, usually on the first Friday of the month. It is a time for African admins to talk to each other, discover tools and tips, share challenges, and learn from one another.
