Welcome to the Meta-Wiki page of the Association of Good Faith Wikipedians Who Remain Unregistered on Principle (AGFWWRUP). This association is open to unregistered editors who agree with its goals. To discuss our goals and initiatives, please do so freely on the talk page.

Don't give in to peer pressure. Your IP-ness makes you special. Editors should be judged by their editing record alone. Accounts are overrated. Make your non-conformity and constructive edits an example of 'assume good faith towards IP editors' for all registered users. If you are on Wikipedia to edit and have no lofty goals beyond that, ignore the zombie-like "register, register!" cries of registered users.

Goals[edit]

The goals of the AGFWWRUP are as follows:

  • Show solidarity with existing good faith IP editors. (By remaining unregistered, for one.)
  • If necessary, protest for the rights of unregistered editors.
  • Advocate pending changes over semi-protection.
  • Persuade bot owners to stop indiscriminately including "Welcome to Wikipedia." in talk page messages.[1]
  • Last but not least, continuously improve Wikipedia.

Notes[edit]

1.^  IP editors who have made hundreds (or thousands) of recent contributions over a period of many months (or years) are constantly being confronted with "Welcome to Wikipedia." statements. (example; 13x)
