BHL Community

The Biodiversity Heritage Library is collaborative in essence. The BHL Consortium connects a core team with partners around the globe with the mission of making the biodiversity literature openly available. Besides the staff, BHL is built with help of countless volunteers with multiple citizen science and crowdsourcing projects. The BHL-Wiki working group supports Wikimedians interested in contributing to the sum of human knowledge on our biodiversity heritage.

BHL-Wiki Working group

Pause of Regular Meetings

In light of BHL’s ongoing transition and reduced administrative capacity, the BHL-Wiki Working Group met in May 2025 and unanimously agreed to pause its regular monthly meetings. While meetings are on hold, group members will continue to contribute BHL content and data to Wikimedia platforms. The BHL-Wiki Telegram channel will remain active to support informal coordination and ongoing communication. This pause reflects a shift in coordination—not in commitment. The group remains dedicated to advancing BHL’s presence in the Wikiverse and will continue to explore opportunities for collaboration and contribution.
