Tools survey

[edit]

The survey was conducted during August 2024 and we received 44 responses from more than 20 community members.

Results and more details about this important survey can be found here.

Annual plan goals

[edit]

Based on the results of the survey done in August 2024, during the Y3 we plan to focus on:

  • Tool discovery improvements (e.g. featured tools)
  • We will contact the participants of the survey to understand their needs and what they would like to see improved
  • Help maintain technical Village pumps in the CEE languages

Open call

[edit]

Open call for funding tech projects across the CEECA Region

CEE Hub Tech Advancement working group is organising an open call for funding tech projects proposed by Wikimedia community members (individuals, groups, affiliates, or organisations contributing to Wikimedia projects) from the CEE region and Central Asia, as well as Farsi contributors that live in these two regions.

These grants are intended for implementation of projects that have value for communities in the region.

Once the grant application has been submitted, the CEE Hub Tech Advancement Working Group will review the proposal and determine the allocation of the budget. The expected processing time for the applications is two weeks.

Available total budget for this call is 1.500 EUR, so each application should not be more than 700 EUR.

Eligibility

All applications and applicants should fulfil eligibility criteria which are explained on the Meta page for Microgrants proposals from the CEE Hub.

Specific criteria

  • Grant requests and reports should be submitted in English
  • Project implementation should last no longer than 60 days

What we fund and selection criteria

We are funding software development and the main selection criteria will be the number of affected projects.

Please apply until January 25, 2026 as you will send an email to CEE Hub staff member Toni Ristovski (toni.ristovski@wmceehub.org). In the email please include some of your work before and connected with the proposed software development that you want to implement on the Wikimedia projects.
