• To encourage students of the Assamese department, BU to take part in various Wiki projects and empower them to gain new skills and build confidence to work in regional language Wiki projects.

Agenda/Program of the Event/Activity

• 10:00 am to 10:15 am - Introduction and Ice-breaking
• 10:15 am to 11:00 am - Hands-on training on Basics of editing a page
• 11:00 am to 12:00 noon - Creating your first article
• 12:00 noon to 12:15 pm - Tea break
• 12:15 pm to 12:45 pm - Basics of adding references
• 12:45 pm to 1:15 pm - The style and formatting
• 1:15 to 1:30 pm: QA session and conclusion

Expected Outcomes from the Event/Activity planned

• At least 30 students will create accounts on Assamese Wikipedia
• At least 10 editors will join Assamese Wikimedia projects following creation of their first Wikipedia articles on the day of the workshop

Post Event/Activity Engagement

Follow-up engagement plan post the event/activity

• Participant's activities will be tracked and they'll be guided based on the shortcomings
• A group will be created with the students for queries and prompt resolutions
• Subsequent trainings on other Wikimedia projects will be held as per the interest and convenience of the students
