[edit]Outreach Programme, seminar/discussion and short workshop in collaboration with Bengali Department, Assam University, Silchar, Assam.
Purpose of the Event/Activity
[edit]Many cultural texts and historical documents in Bangla language are reluctantly persevered in the north-eastern part of India in local libraries, schools, colleges and university libraries. After discussing the importance of digitization, the authority may be attracted and may help us to take appropriate course of action. Writers and scholars may be inspired by the exemplary decision of Dr. Tapodhir Bhattacharjee, Ex. Vice-Chancellor of Assam University to relicense their books. We can simultaneously motivate the other languages scholars and writers by inviting this event.

[edit]Literary organizations will be familiar with the possibilities, rules and regulations of digitization and re-licensing of their collections after this event. Individual writers may also be influenced by Tapodhir Bhattacharjee's decision to re-license their works. The events might provide an platform for other language communities of North-east to come forward for digitization.

[edit]We will keep a regular contact with the individuals and organizations participated in this event and send the news and update of different digitization program to insist them for further actions. If we get positive response from them, we will engage with them and connect with our existing user group programs.
