Advanced Wikidata Training 2018 or AWT2018 is a residential training workshop for experienced Wikidata editors in India to be conducted on 15-16 December 2018.

Background and objectives[edit]

In India a few Wikidata trainings took place, notably User:Asaf (WMF)/2017 Technical trainings in India. After this training of Asaf, we saw several developments in India including formation of WikiProject India, a few label-a-thons, and Indian Independence label-a-thon. Now, we are trying to take the Wikidata experience in India to the next level.

The plan is like this:

  • actively working on Wikidata and
  • aware of basic Wikidata editing

will attend the training to

  • learn more about advanced Wikidata editing
  • plan future Wikidata activities in India

Who should join[edit]

Wikimedians in India who are—

  • very much active on Wikidata and contributing to Wikidata on a regular basis for months
  • aware about Wikidata structure, basic query and tools like reasonator, quickstatements etc (preferably actively using it)
  • At least 10,000 edits on Wikidata till 1 November 2018 (we know that edits on Wikidata does not prove a lot of things, however this is the best criteria we have, as of now)

  • Dates: 15 and 16 December 2018 (you must reach the venue by 14 December 6 pm for pre-event)
  • City: Mumbai
  • Venue: Grand Hometel Mallad, Mumbai
