CIS-A2K/Events/Wikimedia session with Mahatma Gandhi Public Library, Sangli
As part of the GLAM partnerships, CIS-A2K has been developing collaborations with resourceful libraries. Mahatma Gandhi Public library in Sangli city is 100 years old library having valuable records, reports and Gandhi literature. The founding stone of this library was laid by Mahatma Gandhi in 1920. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, 2 October, CIS-A2K representative conducted a session on free knowledge & Wikimedia projects for the trustees, staff and members of the library. In this session 25 persons participated.
The second meeting of key persons of library was organised on 25 October to explore the public domain works and plan of digitisation. The listing of reference material has been started. The memoirs, reports and rare photographs will also be digitised.
