CampWiz is an innovative multilingual (soon to be) tool developed to streamline the organization of edit-a-thons and similar campaigns across Wikipedia. Introduced as part of the Feminism and Folklore initiative in 2024, CampWiz offers a user-friendly interface that simplifies the coordination of article submissions and the jury process, accommodating multiple languages to support global participation.

  • Campaign Creation: Organizers can effortlessly set up new campaigns by specifying details such as the target Wikipedia language, campaign name, duration, and description. The tool allows customization of submission criteria, including minimum byte and word additions.

Development and Recognition

CampWiz was developed through a collaboration between Project Korikath and the Wiki Loves Folklore international team, led by Nokib Sarkar. The tool was designed to address the specific needs of the Feminism and Folklore campaign, providing features not previously available in the Wikimedia ecosystem. Its impact was recognized with an honorable mention at the Coolest Tool Awards 2024 during Wikimania.

Usage in Wiki Campaigns

In the 2024 edition of the Feminism and Folklore campaign, CampWiz was embraced by 32 wiki communities, significantly enhancing the efficiency of organizing and managing edit-a-thons focused on cultural and gender inclusivity topics. It was also used in Wiki Loves Onam campaign in 2024. In 2025 33 communities opted to Campwiz for the Feminism and Folklore campaign.

CampWiz is accessible through the Feminism and Folklore Toolkit, which also includes the Article List Generator by Topic tool. These resources are designed to support organizers and participants in bridging content gaps related to feminism and folklore across Wikipedia projects.
