Central Notice admin comments
[edit]- @MPossoupe (WMF) and SGrabarczuk (WMF): Let us know when it's ready so that we volunteer admins can approve it. :) Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 18:14, 14 August 2025 (UTC)
- @DerHexer, the voting dates are likely to change. I will update later the exact dates. Can you please put it on pause.
- ping @SGrabarczuk (WMF)
- Thanks MPossoupe (WMF) (talk) 09:42, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
- We will need the banner from October 8th to October 23 as per the new dates for the election. I have updated the dates accordingly.
- @DerHexer @SGrabarczuk (WMF).
- Thanks MPossoupe (WMF) (talk) 07:51, 22 August 2025 (UTC)
- That's fine. We are ready to review the campaign the Foundation will set up for the dates needed. :) Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 16:44, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- @MPossoupe (WMF) and SGrabarczuk (WMF): This campaign has neither been reviewed nor approved by volunteer admins but was enabled by Szymon two days ago, despite the repeated statements that the campaign has to go through this process on this very page. I assume good faith and I am aware of the recent conversations around the election that have probably put some pressure on your end, but please confirm that the usage guidelines are still valid and that we have a joined understanding of procedures or not. Please let us know if we should check and approve them now in the aftermath so that the campaign can run formally correct. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 07:50, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @DerHexer, please do that now. I thought it already went through the approval processus based on the initial dates of the elections. I don't think anything changes in the usage guidelines. Thanks for pinging us on this and assuming good faith.

- @MPossoupe (WMF) and SGrabarczuk (WMF): I have checked the campaign and banner. Is there a good reason why this campaign doesn't respect cawiki's wish not to see any CentralNotice banners? We always exclude them, the campaign doesn't say so. — Afaics, you have also contacted users through echo notifications and email mass messages. In my opinion, we could disable cawikis in this campaign.
Other than that, it looks okay to me (<2 weeks, returning campaign -> no community approvals/ambassadors needed; only targeting users with a minimum number of edits for reducing banner blindness; a couple of translations are available, more would be appreciated but there is a link that asks for help [that could be adjusted with JS so that the correct language of the TranslationExtension could be addressed, see for example this banner at the very bottom]). Approved. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 17:20, 13 October 2025 (UTC) - Thanks, I've removed Catalan. SGrabarczuk (WMF) (talk) 18:26, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
