Central Notice admin comments

[edit]
  • @Ada Jakubowska (WMPL): Thank you for your request here and there. Am I right in seeing that these are your first campaign request? I recommend reading the usage guidelines and maybe checking out the the requester training (there is also a YouTube video of that session).
    • CentralNotice administrators can only process self-designed banners or variations of the standard banner. For the first one the requester has to provide the HTML/CSS/JS source code and fulfill the design requirements (mobile responsiveness if needed, dark mode accessibility, etc.); for example, Wikimedia CZ is doing that. For the latter we can only process one logo (or two), a text and a link, maybe with some changes of (background) colors; that's what most requesters prefer.
    • Furthermore, per the usage guidelines, Wikimedia organizations are kindly asked to have their own CentralNotice administrators that prepare the campaigns if they request (more than) two campaigns per years so that the volunteer admins only need to check and approve it, and can focus on other requests. In the future, that could be helpful for you, too. Please don't hesitate to ask me for CentralNotice training for WMPL and/or Polish community similar to my VSN training on banner campaigns or the plwiki admin training on range blocks I have conducted.
  • Therefore, please provide a processable banner source code or items for a standard banner variation, and ping me for each step. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 20:00, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@DerHexer: Thank you very much for your comments. You are right in thinking that this is my first request for a campaign and I apologise for complicating the process. I have already corrected the request (here and there) by providing the required items for a standard banner variation.
Thank you also for offering to train us. I think we will definitely take you up on your offer, and I will be in touch with you soon about this! Ada Jakubowska (WMPL) (talk) 09:50, 15 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Ada Jakubowska (WMPL): Thanks for the quick adjustments! I have created the campaign and banner (preview). Please check everything, approve and ping me so that I can enable the campaign. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 19:08, 15 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@DerHexer Everything looks ok, thank you! Ada Jakubowska (WMPL) (talk) 07:00, 16 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
