Central Notice admin comments[edit]

  • I will take a look. —DerHexer (Talk) 12:01, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    @Jayantanth: I've created the campaign and banner. However, we usually just enable it for languages which are provided at the landing page. Currently, there is only English available. Please make the page translatable, then we can add further languages to the campaign. I don't have a list of Indic language Wikipedias, so please tell me the language settings which you want to reach (I could also see them in the translated versions of your landing page). Please check here that it meets your expectations. Once everything is arranged and you confirm the start of the campaign, I will enable it. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 12:18, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@DerHexer:, Thanks . Could it be possible add the wikisource logo rightside of the banner?. Otherwise all is ok. Jayantanth (talk) 15:03, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Jayantanth: Lol, that's probably called banner blindness. I didn't see the Wikisource logo. ;D Now it's added. I could enable the campaign but please note that it will only be shown in English settings. I can only enable Indic language settings when the landing page will be available (or translatable) in these languages. What shall I do? Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 22:43, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@DerHexer:, Thanks. Most of the language is translated of this banner. Please enable it, as current setting is ok with all Indic language. Jayantanth (talk) 04:47, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Jayantanth: I was not talking about the banner but the landing page. ;) It's still English-only, therefore I will enable the campaign for English settings only. Please ping me once the landing page is available in other languages, I can easily enable them then. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 09:34, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@DerHexer:, please enable it as english. The Indic language code: As,bn,gu,kn,ml,mr,or,pa,sa,ta,te --Jayantanth (talk) 12:39, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Jayantanth: I've seen that you've translated the banner text into these languages (hi = Hindi was missing ;)). However, I've meant that not only the banner texts but also the landing page (Indic Wikisource Proofreadthon August 2021) should be available in all these languages. It'd be nice if you could put some work into that. I've enabled the campaign for all these languages nonetheless. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 18:03, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@DerHexer: Is it possible to localize the URL as well? Right now for bn wikisource, the procedure is like this: the banner will take you to Indic Wikisource Proofreadthon August 2021. Then you have to go to Indic_Wikisource_Proofreadthon_August_2021/Book_list#Bengali, from there the link will take you to wikisource:bn:উইকিসংকলন:ভারতীয় উইকিসংকলন মুদ্রণ সংশোধন প্রতিযোগিতা (আগস্ট ২০২১)/বইয়ের তালিকা. I think i will make more sense if we directly send people to the bn wikisource rather than meta. So, people (specially new) don't get lost finding the correct project. I belive you just need to change <a class="cnotice-full-banner-click external text" href="//meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Indic_Wikisource_Proofreadthon_August_2021"> to <a class="cnotice-full-banner-click external text" href="{{{link}}}"> (see this for example). Of course default landing page will be meta but in this way, if any wiki wants they can link their landing page. --আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 17:33, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Jayantanth: Done. —DerHexer (Talk) 09:43, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
