Discussion

Hello, I would like to record here the communication of the request for publication on the Esplanada and on the Wiki Movimento Brasil discussion page.--Danielly Figueredo (Projeto Mais+) (talk) 11:21, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I would like to confirm the request to publish the campaign Mais Povos Originários em Teoria da História na Wiki 2025. Could you give me some feedback about the banner, please? @DerHexer:, @Martin Urbanec:, @Johannnes89:, @Seddon:, @Steinsplitter:, @Vermont:, @Yahya:. --Sarah Marcelino (Projeto Mais+) (talk) 23:53, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @DerHexer: and @Johannnes89:, sorry to disturb you again with this request, but the campaign is supposed to start today, May 31st. The banner would definitely help us bring more collaborators to the event. So I'm here to kindly ask if you could spend some time setting up the campaign, or let us know if anything still needs to be changed. Thank you very much! I really appreciate your help on this matter Flávia Varella (talk) 19:52, 31 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Flávia Varella if you had added the request to CentralNotice/Request (per CentralNotice/Usage guidelines) we would have noticed it in advance. The ping four days ago didn’t reach anyone because the signature was missing initially. I can try taking a look tomorrow, my first impression is that this is way too much text for a banner, the usage guidelines recommend 50-70 characters in 1-2 lines of text. Johannnes89 (talk) 21:06, 31 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much, @Johannnes89:, and I’m really sorry for not following the proper procedure. I should have added the request to CentralNotice/Request, and I now understand why the previous ping didn’t work. I’ve already updated the banner to make it shorter and in line with the 50–70 character recommendation. I really appreciate your time and support in helping us move forward with this! Flávia Varella (talk) 04:46, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Flávia Varella thanks for updating the banner text, that's perfect, especially on smaller screens and smartphones. I've created the campaign [1] as well as the banner [2] (preview [3]) using our standard banner template, because your banner version contains wikitext which doesn't work in banners.
Note that the banner logo you provided contains text, which is likely not readable on most screens. That's why the CN usage guidelines recommend using icons or simple graphics (see e.g. the preview of our standard template [4]).
Please check both campaign and banner settings + preview to see if you spot any potential errors and let me know if you want to use a different, simpler logo. Once you've confirmed that everything is fine, I can enable the campaign. Johannnes89 (talk) 08:59, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much, @Johannnes89:! The campaign setup looks great — everything seems to be in order. We really appreciate your help and quick response. We’ve noted your observations, and for future campaigns, we’ll make sure to keep them in mind Flávia Varella (talk) 14:26, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've enabled the campaign, starting immediately. Johannnes89 (talk) 14:36, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks @Johannnes89! Flávia Varella (talk) Flávia Varella (talk) 01:48, 2 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
