What is the purpose of the campaign? How will you measure the success of the campaign?[edit]
Description - Hi! I'm on the Foundation's Communications team, primarily tasked with running the Wikimedia Blog. We'd like to showcase a profile we published about Wikipedia editor Sam Oyeyele, targeted to a suitably low percentage of anonymous users/casual readers. We see this as a way of educating these people on how the Wikimedia movement is run by volunteers, putting a human face on some of the changes being made every day, and hope to run more banners of this variety (to, again, low percentages of readers) in the future should this prove successful.
Metrics - This is a first experiment, so we don't yet have target metrics, but we'll be keeping an eye on pageviews that come via the banner. We're hoping that this trial will allow us to come up with target metrics for future banners of this type. (Or it may not—these sorts of banners will be targeted to different geographical areas, and so they may not end up being directly comparable. We'll see.)

What banner(s) will you use? What will be your landing page?[edit]
Banners - The banners will A/B test two different wordings:
- Meet an editor: Sam Oyeyele writes Nigerian cinema into Wikipedia (65)
- Meet Sam. He writes about Nigerian cinema on Wikipedia. (56)
I'm working with other members of the Foundation's Communications team and Joe Seddon on the exact design, which we're hoping to standardize to ease overhead.
