What is the purpose of the campaign? How will you measure the success of the campaign?[edit]
Description - The AfroCine Project, a new WikiProject focused on the cinema of Africa is running a Wikipedia contest in the months of October and November 2018, which is aimed at improving the coverage for film industries across Africa, the Caribbean and the diaspora. The main focus of this contest is to create new articles on African cinema (filmmakers, actors, history, films, etc) on Wikipedia in any language (including through translation). Having a central banner on Wikipedia will definitely give the needed publicity for this contest.
Metrics - achieving more than 500 articles in the contest!

Discussion[edit]
@Jamie Tubers: - Could you write a single line of text you'd like to be included in the banner? Short, succinct and to the point. Seddon (WMF) (talk) 13:33, 16 October 2018 (UTC)
- Hello @Seddon (WMF): Thank you very much for your reply. A suitable line in the banner would be "Do you have interest in Africa and Cinema? Join the Months of African Cinema Global Contest and Edit-a-thon!". Further more, it would be cool to have these two images on the banner; one image for each side. (File:Africa (orthographic projection).svg & File:Video-x-generic.svg). Thanks again!--Jamie Tubers (talk) 17:01, 17 October 2018 (UTC)
- Hello again @Seddon (WMF):, it's almost now the middle of the contest. Can I get an update on this request?--Jamie Tubers (talk) 19:28, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
Housekeeping: tagged as Not done; closing. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 23:29, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hi MarcoAurelio, this request was actually done. I saw the banner from November till the end of the contest. Seddon (WMF) just didn't indicate its approval here. I don't know why. Cheers.--Jamie Tubers (talk) 12:16, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
- Perfect then. Marked as Already done then :-) —MarcoAurelio (talk) 10:54, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
