What is the purpose of the campaign? How will you measure the success of the campaign?
[edit]We want to share suitable onboarding materials in newsletter format with people who have little to no experience editing and working on Wikipedia. The goal is to sustainably increase the number of editors on the German Wikipedia and to integrate these new editors into the existing community.
Metrics -
- Banner impressions
- Banner click rate
- Number of people who visit the landing page of the respective newsletters
- Number of people who sign up for the banner
What banner(s) will you use? What will be your landing page?

WMDE CN admins will handle the request. We'll notify volunteer CN admins for approval once everything is ready. --Johannes Richter (WMDE) (talk) 09:51, 4 September 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Campaign for logged-out users [1], banner (using the one from last year) [2], preview [3]. Campaign for logged-in users banner 1 + 2 (<=50 and 500-5000 edits, internal switch) [4] + preview [5] --Johannes Richter (WMDE) (talk) and Martin Rulsch (WMDE) (talk) 09:58, 4 September 2025 (UTC)
- The correct landing page link has been added. We are ready to go and look forward to volunteer CN admins feedback and approval. Martin Rulsch (WMDE) (talk) 12:05, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
- Everything looks good. Approved from my side! ~ Yahya (talk • contribs) 12:20, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks, I have enabled the campaign. Best, Martin Rulsch (WMDE) (talk) 13:59, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
- The first banner was working as intended. Unfortunately, the second banner was not shown at all because of a script error in the cloned banner. This was fixed so that we have created another campaign with the same but fixed banner (preview). We have changed the banner dates from starting now to Monday, 27 October. Except for the CentralNotice/Request/Queering Wikipedia Conference 2025 campaign, there are no conflicting banners for logged-in users so that we hope it's fine with you.
