What is the purpose of the campaign? How will you measure the success of the campaign?
[edit]Description - Wiki Education's Wikipedia Student Program supports Wikipedia writing assignments in university courses. This one is a set of about 30 US college towns where most of the population in each area is connected to the university there. (See also the previous request which didn't end up running.)
Metrics - We will collect metrics on pageviews of the landing pages, as well as the corresponding wikiedu.org pages that those link to.
What banner(s) will you use? What will be your landing page?

[edit]@DerHexer: Thanks for your help with the previous premature requests, and guiding us through the CN requirements. I think we have everything well-tested and ready to go this time!--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 20:47, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
- @DerHexer: Anything else needed before this is ready? Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 20:11, 30 December 2025 (UTC)

[edit]- @Sage (Wiki Ed): Sorry, I didn't get your last reminder. =( I have created the campaign and used the two banners. One of these had registered users activated, which I disabled. Please check everything, approve it and ping me (correctly) so that I can enable the campaign. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 23:25, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
- @DerHexer: Thanks! I made a minor tweak to the banners to avoid a console error. I suggest geotargeting it to the US, just to prevent loading the hidden banner for non-US users. The JS will keep anyone outside the US from seeing it anyway, but probably better to limit it at the campaign level as well, I think? Other than that, looks great! --Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 23:36, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
- I have changed it accordingly and activated the campaign. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 23:50, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Sage (Wiki Ed): Does it work as intended? Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 15:37, 6 January 2026 (UTC)
- @DerHexer: yes, we have confirmation from two different geotargeted locations that's it working, and folks outside those places aren't seeing them. :-) --Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:32, 6 January 2026 (UTC)
- Wonderful, congratulations! —DerHexer (Talk) 17:09, 6 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Sage (Wiki Ed): Has everything worked as intended? :) I've just archived this request, but the script could be example for future requests. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 17:22, 10 January 2026 (UTC)
- @DerHexer: Yes, it looks like the script worked as intended! We confirmed both banners were showing up in at least two of the geotargeted cities, and didn't get any reports of them showing up for people outside those places. They generated about 10,000 clicks, and we had approximately 1.5% clickthrough from the landing page to our teach.wikiedu.org page. I think the script will be a good example for future requests. — Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:47, 12 January 2026 (UTC)
