Discussion[edit]

Hmmm... Would like to have the banner text translated. Let me know how to go about doing it, through the Translate extension? Thanks. :) Robertsky (talk) 17:39, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@DerHexer: The revised banner has been updated at User:Gunarta (WMID)/Sandbox. (Thanks, @Gunarta (WMID) for the assistance.) The revised banner should work for mobile view. The landing page has also been marked for translations to happen. We will be getting community members to help translate the landing page and the banner. Central Notice admin comments[edit]

  • @Robertsky: I've created the campaign and banner. Some remarks: That's a lot of text, it covers too many parts on mobile. Additionally, it has to be split into many parts; each bold part must be separated—which might even make problems in other languages that have different sentence structures. Furthermore, the contribute button is pretty large (and has too much white space around it, especially for mobile). I recommend to remove the button and the related text. The entire banner will be clickable anyways. What do you think?
Please also look at the current preview with button: desktop, mobile; please open the latter on your phone. For translation of the banner text, you can follow the link in the preview (or this link). But please also mark your landing page for translation. Usally, we only enable the campaign for those languages with a translated (or at least translatable) landing page.
Please ping me with your response and decisions. As soon as everything is clear, I can enable the campaign. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 16:43, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Robertsky: I've implemented the new version. Does it work for you? Shall I enable the campaign? Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 21:47, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
