Discussion[edit]

Hello @JBrungs (WMF), I wanted to ask about our WSC campaign – is our campaign in Poland dependent on the general campaign contributed by Alexmar? Can ours already start because no other banner campaigns are planned in our area now? In Poland WSC started on November 5 and promotion would be very useful. Jacek Broda (WMPL) (talk) 08:26, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jacek Broda (WMPL),
I do not know the details of your campaign and I guess the best person to answer is Alexmar983. All I can say is that since there will be no WMF fundraising banners in Poland for the rest of the year, I do not see a conflict between the Wiki Science Competition and the fundraising campaigns. Have a good campaign! JBrungs (WMF) (talk) 11:09, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
JBrungs (WMF)Jacek Broda (WMPL) I always ask a general sitenotice by default, if national organizers prepare another request, it's not a problem IMHO. The message is the same: we need a campaign. That's why we ask national organizers to list the sitenotices. The general request always focus on at least a massive campaign from Nov 15th to Nov, 30th because it's when almost all countries are open for submission. If Poland had started before that or continued before that, it would not be a problem. We simply try to be regular with that request. --Alexmar983 (talk) 14:00, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Alexmar983 thanks for the reply. As I add my request I have not yet seen yours in the general sitenotice. In Poland, the competition started on November 5, but the banner according to the application was to appear on the same dates as you submitted, i.e. from November 15 to December 15, so the dates coincide 😊 I may hurried with it a little but thanks for understanding. I just noticed that something is starting to move from the general WSC banner and now I do not know whether to wait until the banner will be launched from the general level or try to ping admins with a request to run my request. I will be grateful for a hint. Jacek Broda (WMPL) (talk) 09:10, 17 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@ Ciell hey, could I ask you to see our banner campaign request on the Wiki Science Competition? The English Fundrasing campaign is not displayed in Poland so theoretically there is no collision with our WSC campaign... Can we launch our campaign or do we have to wait for approval for the WSC's global campaign? Jacek Broda (WMPL) (talk) 13:48, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Central Notice admin comments[edit]

I created a campaign, using the settings from 2019 campaign. However, the banner is a standard one with one logo image – I cannot think of a way to show the image in the request so that it isn't too big and still readable. Feel free to edit. -- Ата (talk) 17:48, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@ Ата Hey, thanks for setting the banner – it can be without additional photos, it is possible that we threw a little too much on it 😊 However, if there are no additional photos, you can change the text on the banner to „Nauka? Pokaż jak ją widzisz! Weź udział w konkursie fotograficznym Wiki Science Competition 2021!” (what does mean in English: “Science? Show how you see it! Take part in the Wiki Science Competition! 2021"). And I guess something happened that the banner that does not display now, can you check it? On Friday I saw that it was running but I do not know why it no longer displays ... Jacek Broda (WMPL) (talk) 07:52, 22 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Jacek Broda (WMPL), I added the sentence. As for the display, there is a diet for the banner so that it isn't shown to users every day. If you haven't seen it in a while you should be able to see it again later. Ата (talk) 18:07, 22 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Ата Thanks for the explanation and so I actually came across it later. And unfortunately I noticed an error in the content – "take part in the contest" is repeated, could you change the content to the following "Nauka? Pokaż jak ją widzisz! Weź udział w konkursie fotograficznym Wiki Science Competition 2021!” Jacek Broda (WMPL) (talk) 12:07, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I saw that you correct text on baner. Thanks very much now it's great! Jacek Broda (WMPL) (talk) 09:34, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
