[edit]What would be the reason to target Anonymous Users? Please read our usage guidelines. Ciell (talk) 19:16, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
I have a question about funding. Could you please share a link about funding postcards, certifications e. g.? --Patriccck (talk) 20:34, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
This is following a month of WLM banners, and continues right up to the start of the fundraiser, which itself probably continues into next year. Some countries have been having straight CNs since August. This is far too much use of the CentralNotice. I know this is a regular event, but we can't keep having perpetual CentralNotices. Oppose. --Yair rand (talk) 20:48, 22 October 2020 (UTC)

Oppose per Yair rand. Sorry, but we need to start applying a higher bar before allowing CentralNotice banners. I am not been persuaded that this meets that bar. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 09:29, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
Comment Is there an option to ignore this CN on ro.wiki? We'll use the local sitenotice, which is less intrusive, and also not use anonnotice, since we do not plan on attracting any new editors with WAM. Gikü (talk) 10:02, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Gikü Sure. I'll note it at the top of this request. Note CentralNotice, if correctly configured, is less intrusive than local sitenotice, given sitenotice always displays at 100% of pageviews. I'm happy to go with no anons for you, or with local sitenotice, up to you. Martin Urbanec (talk) 17:03, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
Strong support I think that it's needed, I don't see any problems. I also support in the name of the Georgian Wikipedia. Sincerely, --Mehman 97 10:36, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
Strong support Per Mehman. Addition, it has been going on like this for several years now, I don't see any problem. --Patriccck (talk) 11:13, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
Support. I don't see any problems. Best regards, Malikxan talk 16:07, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
Comment@Martin Urbanec: Still approved per above consensus? I see some potential issues. Just puzzled only. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 14:04, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
Support Major annual event. --Jan Myšák (talk) 17:30, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- I agree. One note: It is "the largest global Wikipedia event" and I think it should be promoted. Patriccck (talk) 17:59, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
Strong support Central notice is needed for showing on all pages to viewers and contributors, Show it on Sindhi Wikipedia, and let me know where to localise or translate the central notice in respective Wikipedia (i.e: Sindhi/Urdu Wikipedia). JogiAsad (talk) 18:07, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- @JogiAsad: I guess once it's ready, will be marked for translation? And verified translation will be given as central notice, but I don't see the message too, will appreciate a page I can see the message to be translated. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 18:21, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- Its translated now. JogiAsad (talk) 22:49, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
- @JogiAsad Here you can translate. Patriccck (talk) 18:24, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- I have translated it and its ready for published to be shown on Sindhi Wikipedia. JogiAsad (talk) 22:48, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
Support only for logged in users, no anon please. No issues with me. Although it's unfortunate it's after WLM (banner spam?). Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 18:21, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- Logged in users only would certainly be a lot better. For IPs, if we're going to use banners to try to get them involved in editing, I'd think it'd be much better to direct them to tutorial resources like w:Help:Introduction than to a specific project. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 20:23, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
Support English wikipedia has million of articles & gets lots of contributor, i understand if people from enwiki don't care about this but others doesn't have lots of contributor and CentralNotice is one of the best way to get new contributors along with regular contributors. --আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 20:04, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
Strong support Per Patriccck --Robins7 (talk) 13:38, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
Comment I don't really know how to respond to the generic support !votes above, other than to say that they do not communicate an understanding that attention is a limited resource that should be directed with care, and that granting a sitewide banner notice at the top of every page is a hugely disruptive action that should not just be done cavalierly or because "I don't see any problems". Likewise, the fact that the banner has appeared in past years is not an argument for it to continue appearing. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 20:23, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
Strong support, this has been done for years, and I speak on behalf of Wikipedia Lusophone. Juan90264 (talk) 00:51, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
- I also ask these Wikipedia:
- But I could't find teahouse / Village pump on Bikol Wikipedia--KOKUYO (talk) 17:35, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
Support but it would be great to highlight the presence of Wikivoyage considering that is the first time that a language version of voy is engaged notwithstanding the tools are designed for Wikipedia rather for Wikivoyage. --Andyrom75 (talk) 19:09, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
Support Yes, please. Some of Malay Wikipedia users are not following our socmed. So a banner to notify the user solely in Wikipedia is much needed. SNN95 (talk) - Vice President of WMCUGM 15:19, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

@KOKUYO: Hello, I've prepared the banner. I'd like to ask you to get it translated to target languages: you can do it via this link. Please ping me once the translations are ready. Please also make sure the banner preview looks as intended. Best, --Martin Urbanec (talk) 20:46, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
