| Abstract:
Wikidata has become a central place for storing knowledge in the form of open data that can be easily used on the other Wikimedia projects. This lecture aims to present some cool ideas about open data pertaining to local knowledge that can be added to Wikidata for further use across Wikipedia articles. Furthermore, it will explain the process that involves identifying open data sources, downloading and preparing the data, and importing the data to newly created or existing Wikidata items. Finally, a couple of examples will be given on how the imported data can be efficiently used on Wikipedia. |
