Event aims to strengthen community engagement and awareness of Wikipedia and its sister projects in Utter pardesh specially Hindi/Urdu speaking region through the Wikipedia 25th Birthday Celebration. The change we want to bring is to build a more connected, motivated, and skillful community of volunteers who actively contribute to Hindi-language content and promote open knowledge
To address these challenges, we plan to organize a community gathering to celebrate Wikipedia’s 25 years, including interactive sessions, experience sharing, training for new contributors, and discussions on future collaborations. This event will help strengthen relationships within the community, attract new editors, and enhance commitment toward the growth of Wikimedia projects.
The main challenges we faced were low public awareness about the Wikipedia, which we worked on and improving over last couple of years, but these events can be a catalyst to our efforts. Another challenge we are aware of is the limited participation of new editors, and reduced interaction among existing community members respecting other priorities and professional engagements.

1. Wikipedia 25 birthday celebration event: A day in person gathering will be organized with approximately 30 to 35 participants. The event will include introduction to Wikipedia’s history, values, and the Wikimedia movement, followed by an open discussion on why Wikipedia remains relevant after 25 years of Wikimedia Movement. A birthday cake cutting ceremony will be held as a symbolic and community building activity to mark the milestone.
2. At the Academy: In Wikipedia 25 birthday celebration event participants are Teacher and Students. We have already host WAM25 event At the MS Academy. [[1]] [[2]]
3. Community interaction and onboarding orientation: During the event, participants will be introduced to how individuals can participate in Wikimedia projects, including editing, documentation, and community engagement. This will be positioned as an orientation and awareness activity rather than a contribution drive, allowing participants to explore interest at their own pace
4. Wikipedia Article Creation Edit A Thon, We will organize a Small edit a thon for participants and create their interest articles on wiki to celebrate wiki25.
5. Post event reporting and knowledge sharing: After the event, a short public summary will be shared on Meta Wiki or Diff outlining the activity, participation, and reflections. All links to uploaded media and the event page will be included for grant reporting and community visibility.

1. Existing Wikimedia contributors and volunteers from the local community. The event will serve as a moment of appreciation and reflection, strengthening their connection to the Wikimedia movement while celebrating Wikipedia’s 25th anniversary.
