要望の進捗状況について
以下は、現在の要望の進捗状況についての説明です。コミュニティからのご意見に基づき、必要に応じて継続的に要望の進捗状況を見直す予定です。
| 進捗状況 | 説明 |
|---|---|
| Under review | Community Wishlist managers will review the wish, may set it up for translation, and change the wish to the appropriate status. |
| Accepted | The wish has been approved for inclusion in the Wishlist, but has not yet been triaged. |
| Unsupported | The Unsupported Tools Working Group will review the wish. |
| Declined | The wish is misaligned with strategic priorities, is a matter involving local wiki policy, does not require engineering resources, or otherwise cannot be actioned by a product team. |
| Community opportunity | The wish cannot be fulfilled by WMF (such as a bot that writes content), but can feasibly be worked on by the community. |
| Long-term opportunity | The wish is a potential strategic opportunity for two or more quarters out. WMF will revisit the wish on a quarterly basis in hopes of including it in a focus area. |
| Near-term opportunity | The wish is likely to be adopted within two quarters, and be integrated into a focus area or strategic hypothesis. |
| Prioritized | The wish will likely be moved into "in progress" within a quarter. |
| In progress | Work is in progress on the wish, or current work is inspired by needs articulated in wish. |
| Done | Wish is fulfilled explicitly, or aspects of it are sufficiently addressed by alternative solutions. |

「重点領域」とは?
財団は特定の課題が共通する要望のパターンを特定し、「重点領域」に仕分けします。
How are wishes evaluated to determine if they are "good" enough to move into the focus area phase?
Community Tech and other Wishlist consultants evaluate and categorize new wishes every week. In this process, we try to identify the user's pain points and potential effort and impact of solving the problem. While some wishes may include a proposed solution, we try not to evaluate or judge the solution in this process. At times, Wishlist stakeholders will ask clarifying questions to better understand the problem.
Different communities may have varying perspectives on what makes a wish "good," but we aim to prioritize wishes that address core challenges. We recommend a clear articulation of the problem and user goal, and supporting evidence through data, screenshots, etc are always helpful.
How are focus areas created and populated?
Community Tech partners with stakeholders at the Foundation to analyze patterns from submitted wishes. We group similar challenges or issues together to identify broad focus areas that represent significant pain points across communities, rather than focusing on individual, isolated wishes.
Will community opinions and wish votes be taken into account when determining focus areas?
Yes, we listen closely to community feedback, and will regularly visit the highest-voted wishes when formulating new focus areas. Focus areas are shaped by the input and concerns of users. However, opinions on what makes a wish "good" or "bad" can vary. Our goal is to balance these perspectives while addressing overarching problems that can have the greatest impact.
How do we determine when to close a focus area?
A focus area is usually closed when it has been adopted, meaning the problem has been addressed and a solution is either in progress or already implemented. Additionally, if ongoing feedback shows limited interest or there are more pressing issues, the focus area may be closed to prioritize more impactful work.

What does it mean to support for a focus area?
Supporting a focus area means that you are prioritising a broader problem or issue that you believe should be addressed. You are not supporting for or against specific wishes, but rather supporting the idea that the underlying issue should be resolved.
Does my support apply to all individual wishes in a focus area?
No. The wishes serve as examples, but the ultimate solution may differ from the individual suggestions. As you support focus areas, we encourage your comments about your interest or disinterest in a specific wish.
