Description

This feature request proposes the development of a tool that allows users to effortlessly export page categories from Wikimedia projects into a user-friendly, structured format like Excel or CSV. This functionality would mirror the existing Book Creator tool but cater specifically to category data.

Step by Step Procedure:

User Interface:

Interactive Interface: Create an interactive interface where users can select categories they want to export, similar to how users select pages for a book in the Book Creator.
Drag-and-Drop Functionality: Allow users to drag and drop categories into a collection area.

Category Selection:

Search and Browse: Provide options to search for categories or browse through a list of available categories.
Add to Collection: Users can add selected categories to their collection, which will be exported later.

Customization Options:

Data Fields: Allow users to customize which data fields they want to include in the export (e.g., page titles, category names, creation dates).
Format Selection: Users can choose the export format (Excel or CSV).

Preview and Edit:

Preview Collection: Provide a preview of the selected categories and the data that will be exported.
Edit Collection: Users can remove or rearrange categories before finalizing the export.

Export Functionality:

Generate Export: Once the collection is finalized, generate the export file in the chosen format.
