I *cannot* edit Wikisource on mobile. (Community Wishlist/W153)

Description

The mobile user interface for Wikisource is horrible, especially when I'm trying to proofread pages in the Page namespace. The standard editnotice already takes up two thirds of the screen. Then the scan and the page content are displayed side by side, which makes both boxes tiny, and as the page contents also displayed in three separate boxes (for header, main content, and footer), each box is miniscule, making it practically impossible to edit anything. As a result, I edit Wikisource almost exclusively on desktop.

(I am only discussing my experience on my iPhone with English Wikisource, but I suspect that this is true for mobile editors on all languages in general. iPads are exempt from this issue though; I've proofread on an iPad before.)

Support A real mobile version for proofreading will help in cases when the user cannot edit on desktop. Erick Soares3 (talk) 12:30, 17 October 2025
Support Better mobile editing tools would make a massive difference for editors who need to contribute on the go, don't have easy access to a computer, or want to keep helping the project while traveling. I think it's a change that could really increase participation in this project (who need a lot). Junglk (talk) 11:29, 1 December 2025
