Add a date range filter to Special:MediaSearch (Community Wishlist/W221)

Description
Special:MediaSearch on Commons is a great tool, but if you're looking for images from a certain time period, like images of snow from January 1, 2009, you have to switch over to the Commons Query Service, which has a steep learning curve. This problem has led to the proliferation of date categories on Commons, which make the entire category system less usable since they lead to images being hidden away behind endless subcategories. It would be great if a date range filter could be added to Special:MediaSearch which filters based on the inception date of the work.
