引用維基 (Community Wishlist/W240/zh)
不妨設想建立一個專門用來管理引用來源的維基資料庫。這樣一來，我們就能跨維基專案追蹤各項引用來源的使用情形、評估其品質、補充詮釋資料，並改善那些被大量重複使用的引用來源。目前，維基數據並不適合承擔這項工作；學術文章或許是例外，但整體而言，資料量帶來的負載過大。
Acceptance criteria, when a citation is added in any Wikipedia, it either creates or reuses a wikicite_id. For example, if <ref url="NYTimes.com/123" /> was added on two different articles, they would automatically be appended with the same wikicite_id. Within Shared Citation interface, I would see that this particular citation was used twice on English Wikipedia. Users could potentially subscribe to this citation, and ask to subscribe/be notified when it is reused elsewhere, in order to ensure that the corresponding text is used for adequate verification.
Initially, we could limit automatic creations of Wiki Cite items when inputted fields are likely to be unique, for example url, DOI and blocklist arbitrary entries e.g url with the value Google.com would not likely be a meaningful citation. Future refinements could look at what fields to automatically display, for example author names, wiki linking the publication.
WikiCite/Shared Citations 是一項相當大膽的計畫，目標大致相當於為所有引用來源建立一套「維基版 DOI」——不只限於學術文章，而是涵蓋各類引用來源。這將讓研究者與編者更容易找到相關條目，也能把「驗證文字中的主張」和「改善、呈現每個來源的詮釋資料」這兩項工作拆開處理，同時大幅減少重複維護相同引用資料的情況。當然，如果有人惡意修改被廣泛共用的引用來源，其影響可能會類似於破壞高使用量模板；但另一方面，這種集中化也會讓破壞行為更容易被發現和處理。
