Regular support for FlaggedRevs (Community Wishlist/W246)
The FlaggedRevs extension is successfully used in several large projects, including de.wiki and pl.wiki. Contrary to some people's claims, it has no significant impact on the number of edits by new users and their retention, but it does have a significant impact on reducing the number of incorrect edits visible to readers, which, in combination with other solutions (such as the abuse filter), helps effectively combat vandalism.
However, this extension has been and still is under constant criticism from some Wikimedia Foundation employees for many years now, as an outdated solution that no one is taking care of. Some opinions even speculate that this extension will be disabled at some point in the future and that communities should prepare for this moment and look for alternative solutions. However, there is no consensus among the communities that use this extension to withdraw it and replace it with other solutions. For this reason, I propose that this extension be included in regular support by the WMF, not so much in terms of any development of this extension, but rather in maintaining its code and compatibility with other extensions and MediaWiki software.
