Description

It would be great to have an embedded tool on Wikimedia Commons that provides analytics, showing the number of times an image or video has been viewed. For videos, it would also be helpful to track viewing duration, similar to the simple analytics available on social media platforms. Such a tool would enable campaign organizers to better evaluate the impact of the content we share on Wikimedia Commons, providing insights into engagement, views, and usage, which are crucial for assessing how our work resonates globally.

at the moment we don’t have such analytics readily at hand and we not sure how the many content on our platform is impacting the world. Are they even accessible

One of the challenges I find with wikimedia commons is how hard it can be to find images you know very well exist.
