Unhide wpTemplateSandboxTemplate input field in Preview page with this template (Community Wishlist/W418)
When editing protected templates and modules, a common need is to preview how a sandbox version of the code will affect a live page. For example, an editor working on Module:Mod/sandbox may want to see how those changes would look on a page that uses Template:Tem that in turn calls Module:Mod. This is especially useful for complex chains of calls. A feature to enable this functionality already exists but is currently hidden. There is an input field with the ID wpTemplateSandboxTemplate under "Preview page with this template". This field should be made visible to all users and include a clear explanation of its purpose. This feature is not overly complex and would significantly help editors test and play with protected templates. While a user script exists to unhide it (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Jackmcbarn/advancedtemplatesandbox.js), this functionality should be part of the standard editing interface for better accessibility and discoverability.
