A bot that adds a notification about uses of old software screenshots in WP articles to talk page (Community Wishlist/W460)
Same as with related wish W458: A bot that adds a notification about uses of old outdated data graphics in WP articles to talk page but for screenshots of software. Please read the other wish first.
Especially on Wikipedias that aren't English Wikipedia, many articles use old screenshots of software even when much more up-to-date screenshots are available and/or the software looks entirely different by now. This can be confusing to people who then think the article is about another software, misleading in that people think a software looks really old and boring, and is just generally an issue.

One could use existing and new Commons categories for this as well as the date field in the file information template.
Sometimes the image is only included in a History section about how the software used to look – the notification can be collapsed/archived/marked as done. If there are multiple old screenshots on the page, it should only make one talk page post and list all of the ones on the article.
