Quote text from primary sources using Wikisource and interwiki transclusion (Community Wishlist/W466)
I’m a Wikipedia editor who wants to include a direct quote from a document or a public domain literary work. On Wikisource, there’s already a transcription of that digitized document. Instead of copying and pasting it into Wikipedia, I’d like there to be an option to directly link the parsed content from Wikisource, similar to how a media file is linked. The text would be visually distinguished as a <blockquote> element or something similar, as an excerpt from Wikisource, and would include direct links to the full transcribed document or its index.
This could be done using the same "transclusion" system that currently works on Wikisource, which allows including the entire document or only specific sections, or by creating a similar system.
