Description

When working with newcomers I wanted to get browser notifications when the user replies. For most users having the Notifications (via push notifications) feature would be easier than setup delivery of notifications to email, which email client not all users have setup with notifications anyway either.

c:User:Jack_who_built_the_house/Convenient_Discussions exists but only works when a page is open. That is only visible when I am on a wiki page in front of me. If I switch to word, youtube, matlab, or minimize web browser, I no longer know when someone replied.

With that task implemented, I would get a popup from web browser, even if it is minimized – often this can also have an audible beep.

This is implemented by majority of social networks and support platforms, and many forums.
