La lista dei desideri della Comunità è un forum per gli utenti dei progetti Wikimedia dove possono condividere idee o "desideri" per migliorare i nostri progetti e la nostra tecnologia, così come per collaborare fra loro e con la Wikimedia Foundation per stabilire priorità e risolvere queste opportunità insieme.
Per poter costruire un software sostenibile e multigenerazionale, la Wikimedia Foundation necessita di ascoltare e collaborare con i volontari riguardo le sfide e le opportunità di migliorare il nostro prodotto e la nostra tecnologia.
Come funziona:
- I volontari possono inviare un desiderio (una richiesta di funzionalità, una correzione di un bug, una modifica di sistema) in qualsiasi momento. Incoraggiamo gli utenti a inoltrare i propri desideri nella propria lingua madre.
- I desideri presentati possono essere rivisti, commentati e modificati da altri volontari e accettati dalla Fondazione.
- La Fondazione esaminerà tutti i nuovi desideri, identificando temi comuni tra i desideri e trasformandoli in Argomenti. Queste "focus area" ci aiutano ad andare oltre le singole soluzioni, che potrebbero funzionare solo per determinati casi d'uso, e invece a identificare e risolvere il maggior numero possibile di problemi più grandi e di grande impatto.
- I contributori potranno supportare e commentare gli Argomenti, che verranno poi adottati dai team di Wikimedia Foundation, da Community Tech, dagli affiliati o da sviluppatori volontari.

January 7, 2026: Update to statuses and to users’ watchlists
Hello everyone! For the first update of 2026, we got some interesting news to share with you.
First of all, we will revisit slightly the statuses for wishes, to better align our work with the needs of the users: more specifically, the “accepted” status will be merged with the “under review” status, and we will open the possibility to vote “under review” wishes; moreover, we will remove the “unsupported” status, that will be merged with the “community opportunity” status. This will mean that “unsupported” wishes can be part of the workstream of the Unsupported Tools Working Group, that has recently started an independent process to resolve some of these issues through shorter development cycles. In the next few days, we will update accordingly the statuses of the involved wishes.
In addition to this, we have some changes to Special:Watchlist that are coming, as part of our current work on the Watchlist labels project:
- we will update the display of Special:EditWatchlist as a first step towards watchlist labels;
- we will update pagination on Special:Search, as a part of the work on the Revamp pagination / page navigation wish.
