A more user-oriented search bar

  • Problem: The search bar currently shows the most probable pages ranked by number of hits.
  • Who would benefit: All Editors
  • Proposed solution: It would be good if the search bar could be oriented to the page most edited by me (ex: on typing User:F on Wikipedia the search bar should first show my name)
  • More comments: This can be adapted for anons to be a page which will be similar in topic( in the same category) to pages which they have clicked on before
  • Phabricator tickets:

Discussion[edit]

Archived[edit]

I've spoken to our search team and they said that while it's theoretically possible, it's going to be a huge effort and they can't do this at the moment. Because our team doesn't have the expertise to work on this proposal on our own, it can't be done. Thanks for participating in our survey. Max Semenik (talk) 01:17, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
