Mobile Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia applications for Microsoft Windows 10.

  • Problem: Currently while editing on my Microsoft Lumia 950 XL wireless cell.-phone with Microsoft Windows 10 Mobile 📱 using Microsoft Edge I often come across issues while editing that if I owned a larger form-factor device wouldn't have been an issue. Uploading images to Wikimedia Commons is a horrendous task, and Microsoft Edge is very prone to crashing, signing me out, and forcing me to upload every image again (which is usually why I only do it one image at a time). The list of issues I run across editing with my Microsoft Lumia 950 XL are numerous, in fact I would prefer editing signed over being forcefully signed out every other edit, and having to sign in which takes too much time. Drafting articles in Microsoft Outlook Mobile is a horrendous task, and editing Wikimedia Commons is next to impossible.
  • Who would benefit: People who use Microsoft Windows 10 of all form-factors.
  • Proposed solution: Create Wikimedia applications for Microsoft Windows 10 that would allow users to upload their images directly, and have a more user-friendly editing experience.

As per above, Windows mobile devices a have a negligible market share and aren't supported by their developers, so this share will not grow. Therefore, it makes no sense for us to expend our resources on mobile Windows apps. As of desktop app, it's already there - your browser. Max Semenik (talk) 00:58, 11 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
