Allow watching (or unwatching) just the page or just the talk page

Problem: Sometimes, you want to watch just a page or just a talk page. For example, you want to watch a noticeboard, but not the chatter that is going on on its talk page.

Who would benefit: registered users

Proposed solution: This should probably be implemented by allowing registered users to unwatch just the page or just the talk page.

More comments: This was already wished for last year: Allow watchlisting just the page or just the talkpage.

Oppose I understand the ratio of this proposal, but personally I am worried that so doing many ns0 low-traffic talk pages might be unwatched, so making even more unlikely taking into account occasional edits and give them feedbacks. --Nicolabel (talk) 15:20, 1 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
